Six students from the school received a $200 scholarship from Lotte Group.

On April 25, 2017, Lotte Group and the Lotte Foundation Scholarship Fund held a scholarship awarding ceremony for the 2016-2017 academic year for students from several universities in Hanoi. Six students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities – Vietnam National University, Hanoi were honored to receive scholarships from the Lotte Foundation, each worth 200 USD.

Mr. Park Sang Shik, Deputy Ambassador of South Korea to Vietnam, delivered the opening remarks at the ceremony.

Attending the scholarship award ceremony were Mr. Park Sang Shik, Deputy Ambassador of Korea to Vietnam; Mr. Baek Woon Jae, Director of the Lotte Foundation Scholarship Fund; Mr. Song Yong Dok, General Manager of Lotte Hotels Vietnam; Mr. Lee Jung Wook, Director of External Affairs of Lotte Group; and representatives of Lotte Group's member companies in Vietnam.
Representing the University of Social Sciences and Humanities were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa – Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, along with representatives from various faculties and 6 outstanding students who received scholarships.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Park Sang Shik, Deputy Ambassador of South Korea to Vietnam, expressed his hope that Lotte's scholarship project would not only be a source of hope for Vietnamese youth but also a foundation for further promoting the spirit of friendship between Vietnam and South Korea.

Mr. Hwan Gyeong Ho, representative of the Korean Embassy in Hanoi, presented scholarships to students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

The Lotte Foundation was established in 1983, and since 2008, the Lotte Foundation Scholarship Fund has been awarding scholarships twice a year to hundreds of outstanding students in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
This is the 19th time Lotte Group has awarded scholarships. This year, scholarships were given to 78 students with outstanding academic achievements. In Hanoi alone, the total value of the scholarships this time is 55,000 USD.
In the first semester of the 2016-2017 academic year, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) had 18 students receiving scholarships, including 6 students from the Korean Studies major at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. These included 3 students from the K58 cohort: Nguyen Thi Hien, Nguyen Thi Hop, and Luong Phan Hong Ngoc, and 3 students from the K59 cohort: Dinh Thi Thu Nhan, Tran Thi Ha Trang, and Tran Thi Thu Dao.

“The Lotte Scholarship has been a source of motivation for me to strive and improve throughout the past semester. I feel incredibly moved and a little proud. This scholarship not only helps me cover my current study expenses but also makes my path to a future career easier,” shared student Nguyen Thi Hien.
The Lotte Scholarship Award Ceremony concluded successfully. This event is a symbol of the strong friendship between South Korea and Vietnam, and reflects Lotte Group's desire to contribute to community activities and social responsibility. Lotte also hopes that today's outstanding students will be the next generation to join Lotte Group's subsidiaries in the near future.
