Receiving and working with the delegation from Gävle University (Sweden)

On April 28, 2017, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) received and worked with a delegation from the University of Gävle (Sweden), led by Prof. Dr. Nader Ahmadi (Vice President of the University). Representatives from the Office of Cooperation and Development and the Faculty of Sociology also participated in the reception.

At the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan gave a welcoming speech and introduced the history and achievements of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities is a leading institution in the field of social sciences and humanities in Vietnam. Established in 1991, the Faculty of Sociology, including the Social Work Department, continues the university's tradition of actively participating in training and scientific research activities in Sociology and Social Work. The Faculty is considered a leading training institution among 55 social work training institutions in Vietnam, especially in master's and doctoral training, research, and publications.

On behalf of the University of Gävle, Professor Nader Ahmadi expressed his gratitude for the warm and enthusiastic reception from the Vice-Rector. Professor Nader Ahmadi and his colleague, Professor Annika Strongberg, Head of the Faculty of Health and Occupational Studies, shared information about the University of Gävle. It is one of Sweden's prestigious public universities with over 17,000 students, including international students from many continents. The University of Gävle proposed collaborative programs such as joint training, research, and publishing in the fields of social work and other social sciences and humanities. In addition, the two universities could also consider short-term cooperation programs such as student and faculty exchanges.

Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tuan pledged to provide the best support and conditions for the establishment of a formal cooperation agreement and the implementation of collaborative activities in the near future.
