The program is implemented according to the Memorandum of Understanding signed by both parties on December 30, 2017, as well as the Vietnamese Language Teaching Contract dated December 13, 2018, with funding from the Korean Government. Accordingly, 17 young Koreans will study Vietnamese language and culture at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. They will study for two months at Howon University (Korea) and five months at the Vietnam Language and Culture Center. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities is responsible for developing ideas, creating appropriate curriculum content, and organizing teaching according to the requirements and quality standards committed to the partner.

Professor Pham Quang Minh delivered a speech at the ceremony.

On behalf of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Professor Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University) extended greetings to all Korean students. In the context of the strong development of Vietnam-Korea relations in many fields – political, economic, social, and cultural – this course further demonstrates the solidarity between the two countries. This is also consistent with the internationalization strategy and expansion of international relations that the University is implementing. The Rector hopes that the students will not only learn the language but also explore historical sites and scenic spots to gain a deeper understanding of Vietnam and its people. In the future, they will have the opportunity to become cultural ambassadors between the two countries.

On behalf of the Korean side, Professor Kim Kwang Soo (Director of the Global CEO Research Group) expressed his gratitude to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities for its thoughtful and enthusiastic support in organizing and implementing the Program. He expressed confidence that, at a leading institution specializing in Vietnamese language and culture training, the 17 participants would successfully complete the Program and become potential global managers. Furthermore, the Program will contribute to the development of bilateral relations between Vietnam and Korea in general.
