On the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, this afternoon, November 16, 2010, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong returned to visit and congratulate the University. Returning to his alma mater, the National Assembly Chairman expressed his joy and emotion at the remarkable progress the University has made in terms of scale, number, and quality of training and research throughout its 65-year history. On the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong wished the University continued success in upholding its glorious traditions, building and developing the University to become even stronger, and affirming its prestige and brand.

National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong is a former student of the Faculty of Literature at Hanoi University (now the University of Social Sciences and Humanities – Vietnam National University, Hanoi), graduating in the 1963-1967 academic year. Throughout his career, he has held various leadership positions and is currently the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee, and a member of the National Defense and Security Council.
