November 13, 2010 - A day of complete joy, a day filled with meaningful activities, a brilliant day - A day of "humanistic colors"...
A lively camp festival
Unlike other Saturdays, instead of sleeping in, hundreds of students were already at school by 7 am, eagerly preparing for the camp design competition with the theme "Youth - Tradition." From small spaces, after more than four hours of continuous work, a beautifully decorated and vibrant camp emerged. Eighteen participating units presented eighteen unique and innovative ideas with names that were both familiar and unfamiliar: Anthropology, 65 Years of Tradition, Historical Museum, Intelligence... All showcased the traditions and unique characteristics of their respective units. Along with designing and setting up the camp, students also demonstrated their dynamism and resourcefulness through creative business ideas and stalls within the camp grounds. A variety of products were offered, from food and drinks to small, charming souvenirs, all at prices affordable for students. This is truly a profound and memorable experience from my beloved student days at the Faculty of Humanities. Nguyen Thi Kim Anh (a student from the Sociology Department) said: "This year, the university is celebrating its 65th anniversary, so this camp is truly very meaningful. I wanted to do something to record this memorable moment of my student life. That's why I learned how to prepare Japanese dishes and today I boldly set up a stall."
Exciting games
Within the framework of the camp, the Youth Union - Student Association, and various clubs also organized many other competitions such as: a beautiful painting and photography contest on the theme "Our Beloved School," and the final round of the "USSH's Got Talent" student talent competition. In addition, there were many fun, healthy, and beneficial recreational games: "Tug of War," "Blindfolded Ice Cream Feeding," "Capture the Flag," "Newspaper Folding," "Elephant Trunk Squeezing," etc. Through these activities, students could freely express their talents and personalities. At the same time, it was also an environment for interaction and bonding among generations of students at the University.
Excited and eagerly awaiting…
The most outstanding and representative performances once again shone brightly. The heroic and vibrant songs, along with the graceful and rhythmic dances, continued to evoke profound feelings, imbued with noble and humanistic meanings. The emotions deepened when Associate Professor Dr. Vu Duc Nghieu – Vice Rector of the University – shared his memories from his time studying and working at the university. And finally, the most anticipated and exciting moment of the evening – the awards ceremony for the Faculty and Student Singing Contest celebrating the 65th anniversary of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the awarding of prizes for the Beautiful Camp Contest – arrived. Cheers and joyful expressions filled the air as the organizing committee officially presented the awards for the camp and contest. After days of meticulous and elaborate preparation, the Faculty of History deservedly won first prize in the beautiful camp contest, while the Faculty of Tourism Studies came in second. The third prize was shared by the Faculty of Journalism and Communication, the Department of Anthropology, and the Team-Group Club. There were many surprises and interesting moments in the announcement of the awards for the faculty-student singing competition. The biggest surprise was that this year's competition awarded two first-place team prizes to the Philosophy and Information-Library Sciences faculties.
