The ceremony commemorating the 65th anniversary of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the awarding of the Ho Chi Minh Order was solemnly held at the International Conference Center this morning, November 17, 2010.

The ceremony commemorating the 65th anniversary of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the awarding of the Ho Chi Minh Order was solemnly held at the International Conference Center this morning, November 17, 2010.Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Propaganda Department Phung Huu Phu, Minister of Education and Training Pham Vu Luan, representatives of the leadership of Hanoi National University... along with representatives of ministries, departments, agencies, domestic and international universities, and generations of teachers and students of the university attended the event. On behalf of the university's leadership, Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Rector of the University - delivered a welcoming speech and reviewed the development journey from the Faculty of Literature (1945 - 1955) to Hanoi University (1956 - 1995), to the present-day University of Social Sciences and Humanities (since 1995) with the achievements the university has made in training, research, and international cooperation…

Over the past 65 years, the University has trained over 26,000 bachelors, thousands of masters, and hundreds of doctoral graduates for the country. Many of them have become outstanding educators, scientists, managers, and prominent socio-political activists. To date, throughout its years of development, the University has received numerous medals, titles, certificates of merit, and awards from various levels of government, from the central government to the city and the National University. The University has had 8 teachers awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize, 11 teachers awarded the State Prize for Science and Technology; 25 teachers awarded the title of People's Teacher, and 56 teachers awarded the title of Excellent Teacher. Notably, in 2005, the University was honored with the title of Heroic Labor Unit. Recognizing and commending the achievements the school has made during the period of reform, on behalf of the Party and the State, Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan presented the Ho Chi Minh Order - the highest award of the State - to the school.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan affirmed the importance and role of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in the past, present, and future. The Vice President emphasized that to meet the educational and training tasks in the new era, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities needs to uphold its fine traditions and fulfill its mission as a leading institution in the country in research, training, and providing high-quality human resources to serve the cause of national construction and development. On this occasion, the University also expressed its gratitude to the generations of teachers who have made great contributions to the development of the university. At the same time, it congratulated the teachers who were awarded the titles of People's Teacher, Excellent Teacher, and those who were recently recognized as Professors and Associate Professors in 2010.

And today, many generations of students from the school have returned to visit, congratulate, and express their gratitude and appreciation to the school and its teachers.
