The 65th Anniversary Ceremony of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Ho Chi Minh Medal Reception was solemnly held at the International Conference Center this morning, November 17, 2010.Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department Phung Huu Phu, Minister of Education and Training Pham Vu Luan, representatives of the Hanoi National University... together with representatives of ministries, departments, agencies, domestic and international universities and generations of teachers and students of the school attended. On behalf of the school's leaders, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - School Principal - delivered a welcome speech and reviewed the development journey from the University of Literature (1945 - 1955) to Hanoi University of Science (1956 - 1995), to the present-day University of Social Sciences and Humanities (since 1995) with the achievements that the school has achieved in training, research, international cooperation...

Over the past 65 years, the school has trained over 26,000 bachelors, thousands of masters and hundreds of doctors for the country. Many of them have become talented teachers, scientists, managers and famous political and social activists of the country. Up to now, through the years of construction and development, the school has received many medals of all ranks, many titles, certificates of merit and awards from departments at all levels from the central to the city and the National University. The school has had 8 teachers awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize, 11 teachers awarded the State Prize for Science and Technology; 25 teachers awarded the title of People's Teacher, 56 teachers awarded the title of Excellent Teacher. In particular, in 2005, the school was honored to receive the title of Heroic Labor Unit. Recognizing and praising the achievements the School has made during the renovation period, on behalf of the Party and the State, Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan awarded the Ho Chi Minh Medal - a noble reward of the State - to the School.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan affirmed the importance and role of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in the past, present and future. The Vice President emphasized: To meet the educational and training tasks in the new period, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities needs to promote its fine traditions and fulfill its mission as a leading institution in the country in research, training and providing high-quality human resources to serve the cause of national construction and development. On this occasion, the University also expressed its gratitude to generations of teachers who have made great contributions to the development of the University. At the same time, it congratulated the teachers who were awarded the title of People's Teacher, Excellent Teacher and the teachers who were recently recognized as Professors and Associate Professors in 2010.

And many generations of students from the school today came to visit, congratulate and express their gratitude to the school and teachers.
