On July 25th, a solemn ceremony was held at 19 Le Thanh Tong Street to celebrate Professor Phan Huy Le's election as a foreign corresponding member of the French Academy of Inscriptions and Fine Arts. The celebratory event and informal gathering were organized by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the Institute of Vietnamese Studies and Development Science, and the Vietnam Historical Science Association.Attending the congratulatory ceremony were representatives from the leadership of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, veteran historians, close colleagues, and generations of students of Professor Phan Huy Le. On behalf of the University's leadership and all staff, faculty, students, postgraduate students, and doctoral candidates, Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Rector - delivered a congratulatory speech to Professor Phan Huy Le. The Rector affirmed the immense contributions of Professor Phan Huy Le to the building and development of the University over the past half-century: Present from the early days of the establishment of Hanoi University in 1956, along with Professors Dinh Xuan Lam, Ha Van Tan, Tran Quoc Vuong and many other teachers of the time, under the guidance of brilliant and talented scientists such as Professors Tran Duc Thao, Dao Duy Anh, Tran Van Giau, Professor Phan Huy Le became the first generation to lay the foundation for Marxist historiography and several other social sciences and humanities in Vietnam.

Professor Phan Huy Le's research achievements have contributed to the development of modern Vietnamese historiography, becoming a source of pride with the legendary "four pillars of the court" of the History Department, and have had a strong influence on many generations of faculty, students of the University and society. For the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi), whose direct predecessor was Hanoi University, besides the Department of Ancient and Medieval Vietnamese History which Professor Phan Huy Le directly led for 30 years, he also founded and developed several new disciplines such as Vietnamese Studies and Oriental Studies, thereby contributing to strengthening exchange, integration, and enhancing Vietnam's scientific prestige internationally. Currently, Professor Phan Huy Le is the Chairman of the Policy Advisory Council of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

For over half a century, Professor Phan Huy Le has been continuously associated with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, directly contributing to the training of thousands of bachelors, hundreds of masters, and nearly twenty doctoral graduates. Among them are those who have now become reputable scientists, and others who are managers and leaders currently holding important positions in educational and scientific research institutions and administrative bodies of the country. At the congratulatory meeting, Professor Dinh Xuan Lam, Professor Nguyen Quang Ngoc, Professor Mai Trong Nhuan – Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Professors and Doctors of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the Faculty of History, the Vietnam Institute of Vietnamese Studies, the Historical Science Association... delivered congratulatory speeches and expressed their honor and pride in the event of Professor Phan Huy Le being elected as a foreign corresponding member.

Professor Phan Huy Le's election as a foreign corresponding member of the French Academy of Inscriptions and Fine Arts is a major scientific event and a source of joy not only for the field of History but also for all branches of the Social Sciences and Humanities in Vietnam. Professor Phan Huy Le is the first Vietnamese historian to have the honor of becoming a foreign corresponding member of one of the most prestigious academies in Europe and the world. The Academy of Inscriptions and Fine Arts (Académie des Inscriptions et Belles-Letres), founded in 1663, is one of the five academies of sciences under the French Academy (Institut de France) of the French Republic. It is also one of the oldest and most renowned academies of the French Academy. The Academy of Inscriptions and Fine Arts is an academy of humanities, researching archaeology, history, and philology from the ancient, medieval, and classical periods across a vast historical space from Western Europe to the Far East.
