Reproductive health promotion in Hien Luong village

On the evening of July 20, 2011, the reproductive health propaganda group of the volunteer student team of the Faculty of Literature in conjunction with the Executive Committee of Branch 8 (Hien Ninh Commune - Soc Son - Hanoi) organized a reproductive health propaganda session at the cultural house of Hien Luong village.Nguyen Thi Thu (in charge of the reproductive health propaganda group) said that the goal of this program is to propagate sex education and reproductive health, guiding teenagers to a healthy and safe lifestyle. The propaganda session started at 7:00 p.m., more than 20 teenagers aged 12 to 17 listened to volunteer students disseminate knowledge about puberty; HIV and how to prevent HIV; premarital sex; unwanted pregnancy and how to prevent pregnancy. In general, the teenagers are still quite shy when discussing and sharing about reproductive health issues. In the near future, the group will carry out reproductive health propaganda work in every hamlet in the entire Hien Ninh commune. This is one of the activities with high social significance of the 2011 green summer volunteer campaign in the districts of Hanoi.
