After the torrential rain yesterday afternoon, July 23rd, the area around Kim Anh Bridge in Thanh Xuan commune (Soc Son district, Hanoi) suddenly became unusually lively. Passersby looked down at the cool, blue water and recognized the blue shirts of volunteers from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.Discovering that the area had fish and especially a lot of clams, team leader Nguyen Ba Phuc decided to gather the male students to go clamming and fishing to improve the team's meals, which usually consisted only of green vegetables and tofu. As soon as he stepped into the water, Phuc was lucky enough to catch a small fish swimming right in front of him. The nearly 10 male students present were inspired, jumping into the water and starting to search like seasoned veterans. The water wasn't very deep and was cool, so they had no difficulty collecting useful spoils for the whole team. Before long, the large basin they brought was full of small fish and plump clams. Minh Hoang – K54 Political Science student – excitedly said: “There are so many clams and fish here, you see them everywhere. I hope these spoils will be the most interesting gift we boys can give to the whole team.” After nearly two hours immersed in the water, their achievements were truly impressive: about 20 kilograms of clams and a considerable number of fish of various kinds. Each family got a memorable "homemade" meal. "This is the best part-time job I've ever participated in. I sincerely thank everyone so much," May (K54 International) shared emotionally.
