The Fulbright Program in Vietnam will select qualified candidates for the 2009 Vietnamese Scholar Program. The Vietnamese Scholar Program (VSP), one of the four traditional components of the Fulbright Program in Vietnam, funds Vietnamese scholars to lecture and/or conduct research at U.S. research institutions or universities for periods ranging from three to nine months.

The Vietnamese Scholar Program (VSP), one of the four traditional components of the Fulbright Program in Vietnam, funds Vietnamese scholars to lecture and/or conduct research at U.S. research institutions or universities for periods ranging from three to nine months.
Selected scholars will receive a monthly living allowance from VSP for the duration of the Program and a round-trip airfare to the United States. The Fulbright Program in Vietnam, in collaboration with the Council for International Exchange of Scholars (CIES), will arrange for scholars to be placed in suitable host institutions in the United States.
VSP encourages women, ethnic minorities, and candidates from all provinces and cities to apply. VSP aims to select outstanding scholars based on academic achievement and expertise, without discrimination based on ethnicity, religion, gender, or connections. Preference will be given to candidates under 50 years of age.
