Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) began accepting applications on June 8, 2015.

On the afternoon of June 1st, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Kim Son, Vice Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, announced that the university will hold the first round of admissions from June 8th to June 25th, 2015; and the second round from August 10th to August 25th, 2015.

The application dossier includes the application form (printed from the VNU website or the training units of VNU); priority certificate if any; a stamped envelope with the address; and the application fee as prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training. Application submission methods: candidates can send their applications by mail or submit them directly to the admissions committees of the respective units.

Candidates can register for a maximum of 3 majors in order of priority at one training institution of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU). The Vice Director of VNU advises candidates to consider and choose carefully because each student is only allowed to register at one VNU unit. If a candidate chooses more than 2 schools, the school that enters the data first will be the one whose application will be submitted.

Training units under Vietnam National University, Hanoi, use the results of the first aptitude test from highest to lowest. Schools are not required to fill all slots, as they can reserve quotas for the next admission round.

Specifically for the University of Foreign Languages, the aptitude test score is a prerequisite, while the admission score is based on the foreign language test result. The Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy only accepts applications with the option of selecting a natural science subject group for the elective section (the aptitude test certificate will clearly state which subject group the mandatory and elective scores belong to).

The admission results will be announced on June 29, 2015.

Some candidates expressed concerns about the calculation of priority points. According to the Vice Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Nguyen Kim Son, priority points will be added to the results of the aptitude test. Priority points differ by 5 points between consecutive groups of candidates (previously, 1 point was awarded for 3 subjects with a maximum total score of 30. Now, with a total aptitude test score of 140 points, the new bonus points will be 5 points). The difference in points between consecutive regions is 2.5 points (previously 0.5 points).

The Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) will announce the admission results no later than June 29th. For those who graduated from high school in 2014 or earlier, if their aptitude test scores meet the entrance requirements, they are considered admitted. Those who do not yet have their high school diploma will have to wait for the results.

Admission notices will be sent before July 25th for the first round and before September 1st for the second round. The enrollment period will last from August 25th to September 10th, 2015, depending on the training unit. Upon admission to VNU, students interested in VNU's special programs will participate in a foreign language assessment exam. Further details will be provided during the enrollment period.
