Listing the volunteer teams for summer 2009

In accordance with the 2009 Summer Volunteer Plan of the Central Youth Union, the Youth Union of Hanoi National University, from the end of June 2009, the Executive Committee of the Youth Union and the Executive Committee of the Student Association of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities implemented the 2009 Summer Volunteer Plan.

In accordance with the 2009 Summer Volunteer Plan of the Central Youth Union, the Youth Union of Hanoi National University, from the end of June 2009, the Executive Committee of the Youth Union and the Executive Committee of the Student Association of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities implemented the 2009 Summer Volunteer Plan.

This year, 13 volunteer teams with over 500 young volunteers will have a vibrant summer of volunteering with many diverse social activities. The launching ceremony is scheduled for July 15, 2009. Below are the specific activities, schedules, and areas of operation for each volunteer team:

A. Volunteer model for supporting students during exam season 2009

- Time: From July 2nd to July 10th, 2009

- Number of volunteers: 150

- Area of ​​operation: Along Nguyen Trai street; at the university entrance exam locations of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

- Activities: Guiding students from other provinces to Hanoi to participate in review classes and the 2009 entrance exam; assisting in maintaining traffic safety and order at the school's examination sites.

B. Volunteer model of student union branches

1. History Team

- Time: July 15th to July 30th, 2009

- Number of volunteers: 30 students (13 male)

- Location: Minh Phu commune, Doan Hung district, Phu Tho province

- Activities include: Organizing summer camps and tutoring for children; conducting awareness campaigns on traffic laws; HIV/AIDS prevention; reproductive health; and visiting families in difficult circumstances.

2. Sociology Team

- Time: July 15th to July 30th, 2009

- Number of volunteers: 37 students (15 male)

- Location: Vo Diem commune, Bac Quang district, Ha Giang province

- Activities include: Organizing summer camps and tutoring for children; conducting awareness campaigns on traffic laws; HIV/AIDS prevention; promoting reproductive health; visiting families in difficult circumstances; screening documentary films; and collaborating with the Military College of Arts....

3. Information and Library Team

- Time: July 15th to July 30th, 2009

- Number of volunteers: 30 students (6 male)

- Location: Lien Minh commune, Vu Ban district, Nam Dinh province

- Activities include: Organizing summer camps and tutoring for children; conducting awareness campaigns on traffic laws; HIV/AIDS prevention; reproductive health; visiting families in difficult circumstances; visiting orphanages and centers for disabled children; establishing children's book collections and community libraries…

4. Linguistics Team

- Time: July 15th to July 30th, 2009

- Number of volunteers: 20 students (4 male)

- Location: Hai Ninh commune, Hai Hau district, Nam Dinh province

- Activities include: Participating in the restoration of the Tan Trao historical site; organizing summer activities and tutoring for children; organizing activities to raise awareness about traffic laws; HIV/AIDS prevention; promoting reproductive health; and visiting families in difficult circumstances.

5. Literature Team

- Time: July 15th to July 30th, 2009

- Number of volunteers: 35

- Location: Binh Son commune, Luc Nam district, Bac Giang province

- Activities include: Organizing summer camps and tutoring for children; conducting awareness campaigns on traffic laws; HIV/AIDS prevention; reproductive health; visiting families in difficult circumstances; and supporting families receiving social welfare benefits.

6. Management Science Team

- Time: July 15th to July 30th, 2009

- Number of volunteers: 31 students (13 male)

- Location: Tan Thinh commune, Chiem Hoa district, Tuyen Quang province

- Activities include: organizing summer camps and tutoring for children; conducting awareness campaigns on traffic laws; HIV/AIDS prevention; reproductive health; visiting families in difficult circumstances; and screening films about Ho Chi Minh's ideology.

7. Nghe An Hometown Team

- Time: July 11th to August 10th, 2009

- Number of students: 13

- Location: Nghe An province

- Activities include: Collaborating with Vinh University to organize educational activities, social activities, and activities to prevent social evils; participating in organizing and strengthening the local Youth Union and Young Pioneers organizations.

C. Join the VNU Hanoi Student Volunteer Team

- Time: July 15th to August 5th, 2009

- Number of participants: 70 students (2 teams)

- Location: Huy Tuong commune and Huy Ha commune, Phu Yen district, Son La province

- Activities include: organizing summer camps and tutoring for children; conducting awareness campaigns on traffic laws; HIV/AIDS prevention; reproductive health; visiting families in difficult circumstances; and screening films about Ho Chi Minh's ideology.

D. Specialized volunteer teams of the Hanoi Youth Union

1. Han Nom Team

- Time period: June 10th to August 10th, 2009

- Number of volunteers: 35

- Location: Hanoi Children's Cultural Center

- Activity content: Teaching Chinese and Nom characters to children.

2. Thang Long Cultural Propaganda Team

- Time:
Phase 1: June 28th to July 2nd, 2009
Phase 2: July 5th to July 7th, 2009

- Number of volunteers: 35

- Location: at the Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam Cultural and Scientific Activities Center and Ngoc Son Temple.

- Activities include: Guiding tourists on the history of Thang Long - Hanoi in general, the history of Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam and Ngoc Son Temple in particular, and guiding visitors on civilized behavior at these scenic spots.

3. Volunteer Reporter Team

- Time period: June 10th to August 10th, 2009

- Number of volunteers: 15

- Geographic area: According to the Youth Teams

- Activities: Reporting and writing articles reflecting on volunteer activities during Summer 2009.
