Tưng bừng lễ khai giảng năm học 2009-2010

This morning, September 18, 2009, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held its opening ceremony for the new academic year 2009-2010.

Tới dự và chia vui cùng đông đảo các thế hệ cán bộ, thầy cô giáo, sinh viên, học viên Nhà trường có GS.TSKH Vũ Minh Giang - Phó Giám đốc ĐHQGHN - cùng đại diện lãnh đạo của nhiều đơn vị trong và ngoài ĐHQGHN.

Trong diễn văn khai giảng, GS.TS Nguyễn Văn Khánh - Hiệu trưởng Nhà trường - đã khẳng định nhiều thành tựu đạt được của Nhà trường trong năm học vừa qua.

Năm học 2008-2009, công tác đào tạo các hệ của nhà trường được tiến hành đúng kế hoạch và đạt chất lượng tốt. Nội dung chuyển đổi sang đào tạo theo tín chỉ đang được triển khai tương đối đồng bộ, toàn diện; công tác phát triển các ngành và mở rộng loại hình đào tạo được chú trọng như chương trình đào tạo bằng kép và chương trình đào tạo liên kết quốc tế theo hình thức “2+2”; các phương thức đào tạo “3+1”, “3,5+0,5”, đào tạo theo hiệp định chính phủ, đào tạo ngắn hạn vẫn được duy trì và mở rộng. Đây cũng là năm đầu tiên trường triển khai tuyển sinh và tổ chức đào tạo ngành Ngôn ngữ học theo mục tiêu trình độ quốc tế.

Trong đào tạo sau đại học, quy mô và cơ cấu đã có bước phát triển và đổi mới. Cụ thể, quy mô đào tạo SĐH đã đạt tỉ lệ 26% so với tổng quy mô đào tạo chính quy.

Hoạt động nghiên cứu khoa học của sinh viên cũng đạt được những kết quả rất đáng khích lệ. Năm 2008, riêng ở cấp Bộ Giáo dục và Đào tạo đã có 01 công trình đạt giải Nhất, 01 công trình đạt giải Nhì, 01 công trình đạt giải Ba, 03 công trình đạt giải Khuyến khích; Nhà trường được Bộ Giáo dục và Đào tạo tặng Bằng khen về thành tích xuất sắc trong phong trào nghiên cứu khoa học sinh viên.

Thanks to the aforementioned efforts of the faculty and students, at the end of the 2008-2009 academic year, many emulation titles were recognized and awarded to collectives and individuals in the school. In particular, the school had 4 collectives and 3 individuals who received Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister; 1 individual was awarded the Second Class Labor Medal, and 2 collectives and 6 individuals were awarded the Third Class Labor Medal. The school achieved the title of Excellent Labor Collective, received a Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Education and Training, and was honored to receive the Emulation Flag and Certificate of Merit from Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

The opening ceremony was also an occasion to honor many individuals and groups of university staff who had achieved outstanding results in the past academic year with numerous medals and certificates of merit from various levels. Professor Vu Minh Giang, Vice Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, presented the Vietnam National University, Hanoi's Emulation Flag to the university's leadership representatives.

Furthermore, the school also announced the decision to award two top-scoring students in the C and D blocks of the recent university entrance exam, 61 students from various cohorts who achieved good and excellent academic results, 52 students who were class officers or student union officers with good achievements in their studies and work, and 49 students who overcame difficulties in their studies. On this occasion, the Military Telecommunications Company also presented gifts and scholarships to 8 students with the highest scores in the university entrance exam last year.

During the 2009-2010 academic year, the school will focus on implementing the following key tasks:

• Strengthen the personnel of the Board of Directors and reorganize the structure of departments and units according to the new term of the Rector; promote and improve the quality of planning, training, and professional development of staff. Develop specific plans and solutions to promote the implementation of projects on training and developing young staff and leading officials in their respective fields.
• Continue to further expand the implementation of the credit-based training method; broaden the scale of high-quality training, training that meets international standards and international collaborations; diversify training types, and provide training that meets social needs.
• Focus intellectual efforts on continuing to develop and implement major scientific tasks, key topics, and projects in social sciences;
• Continue implementing administrative reforms; strengthen the application of information technology in management; find solutions to increase revenue; continue expanding the school's learning and working space; and increase in-depth investment in facilities and equipment for teaching and learning...
