On May 8, 2009, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the University of Applied Sciences and Fine Arts, San Jose State University (SJSU) - USA officially established bilateral cooperation by signing a 5-year cooperation document.
On May 8, 2009, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the University of Applied Sciences and Fine Arts, San Jose State University (SJSU) - USA officially established bilateral cooperation by signing a 5-year cooperation document.
Accordingly, the two sides will establish academic exchange activities, jointly develop and implement training and research programs and projects in common fields, exchange students and research experts, and exchange information and scientific documents. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Prof. Charles Bullock - Rector of the University of Applied Sciences and Fine Arts signed the cooperation document.
[img class="caption" src="images/stories/2009/05/11/sanjose-2.jpg" border="0" width="320" height="201" align="right" ]Previously, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and SJSU had some initial cooperation activities related to the development of the Social Work major such as participating in the international conference on Social Work training held in Vietnam in June 2008, some professors of SJSU were invited to teach Vietnamese students. In April 2009, SJSU presented the Faculty of Sociology with more than 130 books related to Social Work as learning and reference materials for staff and students. The two sides currently have a plan to cooperate in building a master's training program in Social Work in Vietnam with the participation of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the Volunteers International (VSO) of the UK.
At the signing ceremony of the cooperation document, Prof. Nguyen Van Khanh expressed his desire to continue expanding the cooperative relationship between the two sides in the future, especially in the field of Social Work, a field of study in which SJSU has a lot of experience in training and research. Prof. Charles Bullock also expressed his joy at the initial cooperation results between the two sides. He also said that in addition to Social Work, with the potential of human resources and within the scope of available training professions, the two sides can continue to cooperate in many other fields such as Medicine, Public Health, Geriatrics, etc.
San Jose State University (SJSU) was founded in 1857 and is one of the oldest public universities in California. The campus is located in the center of San Jose - the 10th largest city in the United States. SJSU has about 30,000 students studying 134 undergraduate and master's programs. SJSU has 7 colleges, including: Applied Science and Fine Arts, Business, Pedagogy, Engineering, Humanities and Fine Arts, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences.
