The University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the University of San Jose officially establish a collaborative relationship.

On May 8, 2009, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the College of Applied Sciences and Fine Arts at San Jose State University (SJSU) - USA officially established a bilateral cooperation relationship by signing a cooperation agreement with a term of 5 years.

The University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the University of San Jose officially establish a collaborative relationship.

On May 8, 2009, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the College of Applied Sciences and Fine Arts at San Jose State University (SJSU) - USA officially established a bilateral cooperation relationship by signing a cooperation agreement with a term of 5 years.

Accordingly, the two sides will establish academic exchange activities, jointly participate in building and implementing training and research programs and projects in common fields, exchange students and research experts, and exchange scientific information and documents. Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Professor Charles Bullock - Rector of the University of Applied Sciences and Fine Arts signed the cooperation agreement.

Previously, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and SJSU had some initial collaborative activities related to the development of the Social Work field, such as jointly participating in an international conference on social work training held in Vietnam in June 2008, and several SJSU professors were invited to teach Vietnamese students. In April 2009, SJSU donated over 130 books related to social work to the Faculty of Sociology as learning and reference materials for staff and students. The two sides currently plan to cooperate in developing a master's program in social work in Vietnam with the participation of UNICEF and the Vietnamese Volunteers Organization (VSO) from the UK.

At the signing ceremony, Professor Nguyen Van Khanh expressed his desire to further expand the cooperative relationship between the two sides in the future, especially in the field of Social Work, a discipline in which SJSU has extensive experience in training and research. Professor Charles Bullock also expressed his delight at the initial results of the cooperation between the two sides. He also suggested that, in addition to Social Work, with the potential in human resources and within the scope of existing training programs, the two sides could continue to cooperate in many other specialties such as Health, Public Health, Geriatrics, etc.

A brief overview of San Jose State University

San Jose State University (SJSU), founded in 1857, is one of the oldest public universities in California. Its campus is located in the heart of San Jose, the 10th largest city in the United States. SJSU has approximately 30,000 students enrolled in 134 undergraduate and graduate programs. SJSU comprises seven colleges: College of Applied Sciences and Fine Arts, College of Business, College of Education, College of Engineering, College of Humanities and Fine Arts, College of Natural Sciences, and College of Social Sciences.
