With the name "Textbook for Vietnamese", the book is expected to be a textbook that is suitable for the actual characteristics of learners in Vietnam in order to bring about the highest learning efficiency. To achieve this purpose, the Korea Foundation and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities have coordinated to build a team of editors consisting of leading experts in Korean language education from Korea and Vietnam. The basic content of the textbook is built on the basis of investigation and analysis of current Korean textbooks and teaching programs in Vietnam. On that basis, this textbook is built with content and programs that can be used for basic lessons related to Korean in universities in Vietnam. Before being officially published, this textbook was put into pilot use at a number of universities to get feedback from students.

Speaking at the book launch ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Gia Lam said that this is one of the first few textbooks for Vietnamese people built on the basis of knowledge and experience in teaching Korean of lecturers combined with actual research on the duration of Korean language study at universities as well as the characteristics of local learners. In the context of the increasing demand for teaching and learning Korean and Korean culture at university level but not many standard and suitable textbooks, this book is a very good document, which will certainly bring positive effects to Vietnamese people's Korean language learning.
