The 35 performances of the teams brought many attractions and surprises to the judges and the audience. Among them, the most surprising and thrilling thing was the proposal to award the "Most Impressive Contestant" award to international student Jon Ji Song (from North Korea, contestant of the Foreign Trade University team)! Jon Ji Song surpassed nearly 100 international students participating in the speech to receive the absolute vote from the judges!
Associate Professor Dr. Pham Van Duong (Deputy Director of the Institute of Cultural Studies, Head of the Jury) shared: The Jury especially appreciated the seriousness, diligence, and investment of the competing teams, each performance had its own color expressing love and passion for the Vietnamese language and culture. After watching the performances, all members of the Jury unanimously awarded Jon Ji Song the Most Impressive Contestant award, for his excellent performance of the speech: Vietnam in me is President Ho Chi Minh.
Before the Organizing Committee officially presented the award to Jon Ji Song, Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan, Principal of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, decided to give him a special gift! It was a 100% tuition-free scholarship for master's and doctoral studies when
Jon Ji SongRegister to study at University of Social Sciences and Humanities!

And at this moment, an extremely meaningful gift was given to the most impressive contestant of the contest. On behalf of the Organizing Committee and the Ministry of Education and Training, we would like to sincerely thank and acknowledge the valuable contribution of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU. Principal Hoang Anh Tuan shared: The judges, the Organizing Committee, myself as well as all the teachers and students participating in today's contest certainly feel admiration and respect for the love, passion and seriousness of the international students for the Vietnamese language and culture! For a Vietnamese person, using Vietnamese correctly and well sometimes encounters many difficulties! However, right on this stage, foreign friends from different countries, the time spent learning Vietnamese may be short or long, but they all demonstrate their ability to use Vietnamese very fluently. Not only do you pronounce correctly, but when performing folk songs and proverbs, singing Vietnamese folk songs very smoothly, deeply or telling historical stories very touching and full of emotion!
Among nearly 100 international students participating in the contest, Jon Ji Song from North Korea, currently a student at the Foreign Trade University, left me with a special impression! If you just listen to him speak and sing praises to President Ho, it is hard to recognize that he is a foreigner! His ability to speak Vietnamese is very standard, his narrative voice emphasizes, and his high and low tones captivate the audience when presenting his speech. In it, there is respect and admiration for President Ho Chi Minh! The heroism and emotion were expressed by him when singing the song "Ho Chi Minh, the most beautiful name".

I think it was not because I was good but because the Vietnamese people's love for Uncle Ho was so great that it made me feel truly moved when I spoke eloquently on this topic and was highly appreciated by the teachers and the judges. At that time, I was so happy and surprised that I couldn't even speak.
Jon Ji Song added: “I was born in North Korea, but I spent 5 years (from grade 5 to grade 9) studying and living in Vietnam. Then I returned to North Korea to study high school. But my love for Vietnam urged me to return to continue my university studies to improve my Vietnamese language skills as well as understand more about Vietnamese culture. After graduating from the International Faculty at the Foreign Trade University, I continued to study Chinese (so I am currently a first-year student). I hope that after studying, I will be able to work in a field that can contribute the most to the development of friendly relations between Vietnam and North Korea. I am very happy and proud to be the only candidate to receive the gift from the University and I will definitely consider seriously choosing to study for a master's or doctorate at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities because it is a great opportunity for me to continue to improve my understanding of the field I am pursuing and will be useful for my future work. This".
