On behalf of the hospital's leadership, Dr. Tran Viet Luc warmly welcomed the delegation from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities who visited the hospital and presented a congratulatory flower basket; he also provided a brief overview of the hospital's history, development, strengths, and key tasks for the future. The Central Geriatric Hospital (formerly the Institute for the Protection of the Health of the Elderly) was established in 1983. Over 50 years of construction and development, the Central Geriatric Hospital has made remarkable progress, initially meeting the expectations of the State and the needs of the people regarding healthcare for the elderly. Many advanced and modern techniques have been effectively applied in the diagnosis, treatment, and care of patients.
In addition, the Geriatric Hospital is also a training facility for secondary, university, and postgraduate medical personnel, and a center for medical scientific research. Every year, it carries out numerous state-level, ministerial-level, and institutional-level research projects, completing many valuable projects with practical applications in medical examination and treatment and personnel training.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Rector Dang Thi Thu Huong extended her congratulations to the leadership, doctors, teachers, and medical staff of the Central Geriatric Hospital. With the achievements it has made, the hospital has become a reputable medical facility and treatment center both domestically and internationally, earning the trust of patients.
The University of Social Sciences and Humanities has the Faculty of Psychology and the Faculty of Sociology – units that train and conduct scientific research in the fields of psychology (developmental psychology, social psychology, clinical psychology, counseling psychology) and social work. Over the years, especially during and after the Covid-19 pandemic, the University has carried out many meaningful activities in partnership with the community, bringing practical value. The two sides share similarities, particularly in training and practice in clinical psychology. This is an important foundation for effective cooperation in the future, increasing resources, leveraging each other's strengths, helping faculty and staff improve their skills, providing students with more opportunities for practice, and enhancing service to the community and society.

Associate Professor Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong and the VNU-USSH delegation presented flowers as a token of gratitude for the warm and cordial welcome extended by the leadership of the Central Geriatric Hospital.
Based on the specific discussions, both sides agreed to sign a cooperation agreement, which is expected to focus on the following contents:
- Coordinate activities to organize short-term training courses on mental health, clinical psychology, and social work in hospitals; organize research and clinical practice activities related to psychosocial support aspects in healthcare.
- Send staff and lecturers to act as speakers or participate in training, study, and research at partner institutions, and issue certificates to learners (if needed).
- Exchange of staff, lecturers, trainees, and students for visits, practical research, and sharing of professional experience and clinical practice at the facility.
- Exchange of documents and textbooks compiled by faculty, lecturers, trainees, and students of each side, or other scientific materials related to mental health, clinical psychology, and social work, for the purpose of teaching, research, and practice…

Prof. Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong expressed her gratitude to the hospital's leadership for the warm welcome extended to the delegation and expressed her confidence that, based on today's discussions, both sides will expedite the procedures for signing an agreement to provide a legal basis for effective cooperation in the future.
