At the meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Lai Quoc Khanh - Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU shared: After the visit and work of the VNU-USSH delegation to Hong Ha Academy last June, the two sides have restarted many projects and cooperation activities after a period of recovery after Covid - 19. Including preparations for the 5th Forum of Rectors of Universities in the Red River Basin scheduled for November 22-25, 2023 and issues of professional training and improving academic quality.
Vice President Lai Quoc Khanh emphasized that Chinese students and trainees studying at VNU-USSH in many different fields in programs from bachelor to master, doctorate, short-term training programs and are provided with the best conditions for studying, medical care, and cultural exchange with Vietnamese students. In the coming time, VNU-USSH hopes to have the opportunity to exchange students and lecturers with Hong Ha Academy, demonstrating goodwill in deepening the cooperative relationship between the two training institutions.

Mr. Zhang Can Bang - Vice President of Hong Ha Academy shared his joy when he returned to visit the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU after a long period of social distancing due to Covid-19. According to him, as a pioneering training institution in training and research in the field of social sciences and humanities in Vietnam, VNU - USSH will be one of the important partners in successfully organizing the 5th Forum of Rectors of Universities in the Red River Basin. I hope that in the future, the two sides will further promote cooperation projects in research, training and enhance cultural exchanges, student and lecturer exchanges between the two sides.
With the theme: “Opportunities and roadmap for cooperation between South Asian - Southeast Asian - Chinese universities in the new context”, the 5th forum is expected to orient cooperation between member universities in the future, bringing the educational cooperation relationship between Vietnam and China to a new level.
At the meeting, the leaders of the two sides agreed on the following main contents:
- Cooperate in organizing the 5th Red River Basin University Presidents Forum at Yunnan University, China from November 22-25, 2023.
- Coordinated organization of Vietnamese Proficiency Test for Chinese students in Lao Cai.
- Implementing support for Hong Ha Academy to build Vietnamese Major (training program, compiling textbooks, training source staff)
- Re-signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two parties.
