On December 6, 2012, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities solemnly held the ceremony to honor outstanding young people of 2012. Attending the ceremony were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh – Rector of the University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim – Vice Rector of the University, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Hanh – Deputy Head of the Student Affairs and Student Support Department - Vietnam National University, Hanoi, along with leaders from various units.

On December 6, 2012, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities solemnly held the ceremony to honor outstanding young people of 2012. Attending the ceremony were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh – Rector of the University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim – Vice Rector of the University, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Hanh – Deputy Head of the Student Affairs and Student Support Department - Vietnam National University, Hanoi, along with leaders from various units.This year's list of 233 outstanding young people includes 208 students and 25 young staff members. Among them, 18 students and 3 young staff members were recognized as outstanding young people at the Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU), and 1 student received a Certificate of Merit from the VNU Director. At the ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu – Head of the Political and Student Affairs Department – ​​presented an overview of the outstanding young people of 2012. The report summarized the achievements of the staff, students, and outstanding young people of the University during the 2011-2012 academic year. Regarding academics: Last year, the University awarded diplomas to 1,255 students of the QH.2008.X cohort. Notably, the first cohort trained for strategic tasks had 11 students graduating. Academic results for the QH.2009.X, QH.2010.X, and QH.2011.X cohorts: 9.71% excellent, 23.93% good, and 43.91% fair. Students with high academic achievements include: Nguyen Thi Thuy Quynh (K54, Faculty of Tourism Studies) with 3.85 points; Nguyen Tuan Anh (K55, Faculty of Oriental Studies) with 3.85 points; Le Thi Huyen Trang (K54, Faculty of Information and Library Science) with 3.81 points… In the 2011-2012 academic year, the school awarded certificates of merit to 56 students with excellent and outstanding academic results, 53 students who were class officers or student union/association officers with many achievements in their studies and work, and 57 students from disadvantaged backgrounds who excelled in their studies. Notably, 25 young staff members received the title of outstanding worker at the grassroots level. Regarding scientific research: In the 2011-2012 academic year, 18% of students participated in scientific research with 706 projects. Of these, 73 projects won awards at the university level, and 16 projects were submitted to the Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) and the Ministry of Education and Training. As a result, 2 projects won the "Young Scientific Talent" award from the Ministry of Education and Training; 8 projects won the "Student Research" award from VNU… In addition, in the past academic year, 1,906 students received scholarships to encourage learning and social assistance, and 261 students received scholarships sponsored by domestic and international organizations. For young staff members, many of whom simultaneously hold multiple positions in both professional and extracurricular activities, they overcome difficulties to excel in their professional work while also pursuing their studies and research. Furthermore, outstanding young people actively participate in, contribute to, and achieve many accomplishments in social activities, organizing numerous volunteer and charitable activities with a strong humanitarian and meaningful purpose. Notably, in the past academic year, the school had 45 students and 9 young staff members who were honored to join the Party.

Representing the young faculty members, Dr. Nguyen Thi Nhu Trang (Faculty of Literature) reported on her teaching and research achievements. In 2012, lecturer Nguyen Thi Nhu Trang completed her doctoral program with excellent results in her dissertation defense. Nguyen Thi Nhu Trang is also a member of the research group currently working on a key Group A research project. Simultaneously, Nhu Trang participates in translating documents for research and teaching and undertakes many other tasks at the Faculty… Outstanding young student Phung Chi Kien – K55, Faculty of Political Science – also reported on his academic achievements and participation in social activities. In the past semester, his academic results were excellent, he won first prize in a university-level scientific research competition, and actively participated in many Youth Union and Student Association activities… On behalf of the University leadership, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim - Vice Rector of the University - commended and congratulated the outstanding young faculty members on their achievements over the past year. The Vice Rector emphasized that the outstanding young individuals have made significant contributions to the achievements of various activities, helping to affirm the prestige and scientific standing of the University.
