On December 6, 2012, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities solemnly held a ceremony to honor outstanding young faces in 2012. Attending the ceremony were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Principal of the University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim - Vice Principal of the University, MSc. Nguyen Thi Hong Hanh - Deputy Head of the Department of Student Affairs and Policy - VNU, and leaders of the units.This year's 233 outstanding young faces include 208 students and 25 young staff. Among them, 18 students and 3 young staff were recognized as outstanding young faces at VNU level and 1 student was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the VNU President. At the ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu - Head of the Department of Politics and Student Affairs reported an overview of the outstanding young faces of 2012. The report summarized the achievements of staff, students and outstanding young faces of the University in the 2011-2012 school year. Regarding study: Last year, the University awarded graduation certificates to 1,255 students of the QH.2008.X course. In particular, the first course training in strategic tasks had 11 graduates. The learning results of courses QH.2009.X, QH.2010.X and QH.2011.X: excellent 9.71%, good 23.93%, fair: 43.91%. Students with high academic achievements: Nguyen Thi Thuy Quynh (K54 Faculty of Tourism) achieved 3.85 points; Nguyen Tuan Anh (K55 Faculty of Oriental Studies) achieved 3.85 points; Le Thi Huyen Trang (K54 Faculty of Information - Library) achieved 3.81 points.... In the 2011 - 2012 school year, the school awarded certificates of merit to 56 students with good and excellent academic results, 53 students who were class officers, union - association officers with many achievements in studying and working, 57 students with difficult circumstances who made great efforts to study well. In particular, 25 young cadres achieved the title of emulation soldier at the grassroots level. Regarding Scientific Research: In the 2011-2012 school year, 18% of students participated in scientific research with 706 projects. Of which, 73 projects won school-level awards, 16 projects competed at VNU and the Ministry of Education and Training. As a result, 2 projects won the "Young Scientific Talent" award from the Ministry of Education and Training; 8 projects won the "Student Research" award from VNU... In addition, in the last school year, 1,906 students received scholarships to encourage learning and social support, 261 students received scholarships sponsored by domestic and foreign organizations. For young cadres, most of them are concurrently holding many jobs, both professional and union, but they still overcome difficulties to both do well in professional work and study and research well. In addition, the outstanding young faces also actively participate, contribute and achieve many achievements in social activities, organize many volunteer and charity activities with deep humanity and meaning. In particular, last school year, the School had 45 students and 9 young cadres honored to join the Party.
Representing young staff, Dr. Nguyen Thi Nhu Trang (Faculty of Literature) reported on teaching and research achievements. In 2012, lecturer Nguyen Thi Nhu Trang completed her doctoral program with excellent results in defending her doctoral thesis. Nguyen Thi Nhu Trang is also a member of the research team that is implementing a key topic of group A. At the same time, Nhu Trang also participates in translating documents for research and teaching and undertakes many other tasks at the Faculty... Outstanding young face, student Phung Chi Kien - K55, Faculty of Political Science - also reported on his academic achievements and participation in social activities. Last semester, his academic results were excellent, he won first prize in scientific research at the school level, and actively participated in many activities of the Youth Union - Association... On behalf of the school's leadership, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim - Vice Principal of the school commended and congratulated the achievements of the outstanding young faces in the past year. The Vice Principal emphasized: the outstanding young faces have made many contributions to the achievements of the activities, helping to affirm the prestige and scientific position of the School.
