On December 8, 2012, the Center for Chinese Studies held a ceremony to celebrate its 10th anniversary and a scientific seminar titled "Chinese Studies 2012-2022: Trends and Prospects".The ceremony took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere with the participation of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities); Prof. Dr. Do Tien Sam (Director of the Institute of Chinese Studies, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences); Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Van Hong (Former Director of the Center for Chinese Studies); Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Kim Son (Director of the Center); representatives from various Institutes, Departments, Faculties, and Centers, as well as scientists from within and outside the university, lecturers, and postgraduate students.

The anniversary celebration marked a decade of establishment and development of the Center for Chinese Studies (2002-2012), and also provided an opportunity for generations of staff, collaborators, and scientists researching China to meet and exchange views on current issues concerning China. Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh assessed: “In just 10 years, the Center has achieved significant accomplishments, especially in the field of research. The Center deserves to be one of the leading centers for Chinese studies research in the University and in Vietnam on issues of Chinese history, philosophy, language, culture, and society.” Following the anniversary celebration, a scientific seminar titled “Chinese Studies 2012-2022: Trends and Prospects” took place with lively participation and opinions from scientists and researchers on China. Current Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Kim Son affirmed that with the active support from the University, scientists, collaborators, and the efforts of the Center's staff, the Center for Chinese Studies will achieve even more significant accomplishments in the future.
