From November 26 to December 5, 2012, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU in collaboration with Brigham Young University (USA), the Institute for Global Engagement (USA) organized a training course on religion and the rule of law.
From November 26 to December 5, 2012, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU in collaboration with Brigham Young University (USA), the Institute for Global Engagement (USA) organized a training course on religion and the rule of law.Attending the opening ceremony of the course were Mr. Michael Orona - representative of the US Embassy in Vietnam; Mr. Khong Dai Minh - representative of the Vietnam - US Association; Prof. W. Cole Durham Jr - Director of the Center for International Studies of Law and Religion, Brigham Young University; representatives of ministries, departments, agencies, research institutes... Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim - Vice Rector of the University attended and delivered the opening speech of the course. The 62 students attending the course were officials from agencies, ministries, departments, agencies, universities, research institutes and different provinces across the country. The content of the course mainly deals with the methodology of studying religion and the rule of law; the relationship between religion and the rule of law; theoretical issues of studying religion and the rule of law; experiences in solving religious and the rule of law issues in the world; achievements in implementing religious policies in Vietnam and some countries in the world. International and Vietnamese scientists, researchers, lecturers, and scholars will exchange and share experiences and research results on religion and the rule of law. In this course, scholars will share experiences and learn to build a legal system that is most effective for the people and the country. This is the first short-term course to foster knowledge on religion and the rule of law held at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, to equip learners with basic theoretical and practical knowledge on religion and the rule of law.
