On the morning of December 6, 2012, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh, Vice Rector of the University, had a meeting and worked with Professor Dr. Lori A. Forman from the Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies (Honolulu, Hawaii, USA). At the meeting, Professor Lori A. Forman expressed her desire to cooperate with agencies in Vietnam, including the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, to organize an international conference on security in the Central region.
On the morning of December 6, 2012, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh, Vice Rector of the University, had a meeting and worked with Professor Dr. Lori A. Forman from the Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies (Honolulu, Hawaii, USA). At the meeting, Professor Lori A. Forman expressed her desire to cooperate with agencies in Vietnam, including the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, to organize an international conference on security in the Central region.According to Professor Lori A. Forman, the conference is expected to have a theme on approaching non-traditional security research from a gender perspective. The conference will be held in mid-March 2013. Participants will include scientists from six countries: Bangladesh, Myanmar, China, the Philippines, the Pacific Islands and Vietnam. According to Professor Forman, the conference will be an opportunity for scientists to exchange research results, enhance cooperation and make recommendations to contribute to building a peaceful, stable and prosperous region. Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh highly appreciated the idea of organizing the conference by the Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies, and also affirmed that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is a prestigious training and research institution with experience in organizing many scientific conferences and will do its best with the Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies to successfully organize the above conference.
