On December 6, 2012, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held the Congress of Sports Association Delegates for the 2012-2017 term.Attending the Congress were Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh - Vice Principal of the School; Associate Professor Dr. Pham Gia Lam - former Vice Principal of the School, former Chairman of the Sports Association for the 2004 - 2012 term; leaders of Faculties/Departments, functional departments under the School and more than 40 delegates who are members of the clubs: Football, Table Tennis, Badminton, Tennis, Aerobics... The Congress of the School Sports Association for the 2012 - 2017 term aims to evaluate the results achieved in the 2004 - 2012 term and to set out the direction of activities and tasks of the Association for the new term 2012 - 2017. In the 2004 - 2012 term, the School Sports Association has achieved many outstanding achievements: organizing many intra-curricular and extracurricular sports activities for staff and students of the School; establishing sports teams to participate in competitions for awards outside the School. In particular, the School Sports Association has coordinated with the Department of Physical Education to proactively propose to the School Board to allow the introduction of some new subjects into teaching such as: Aerobic, Dancesport... The School Sports Association has participated in over 70% of the total number of sports competitions organized by the Hanoi University and Professional Sports Association, the Vietnam University Sports Association, and the Hanoi National University and has won many awards. Typically: The Football Club won the 2005 VNU Football Tournament, second prize in 2008, third prize in 2010; participated in the VNU Open Tennis Tournament held in April 2012, participated in the Tennis Tournament "University of Social Sciences and Humanities Trade Union, University of Natural Sciences Open Trade Union" in October 2012; Staff and students participated in the Badminton tournament of universities in Hong Kong... Extracurricular sports activities of students are always well organized, there are many typical sports activities attracting many branches, many students to participate: 500 students participated in the "Run for Peace" and 8 students participated in the Hanoi Moi Newspaper Run at Thanh Xuan District level; organized men's and women's football tournaments; Aerobic tournament for students of Humanities; Literature - Sports - Arts student tournament organized by the Ministry of Education and the General Department of Physical Education and Sports... Promoting the achievements of the 2012 - 2017 term, the School Sports Association continues to develop plans and coordinate with the Center for Physical Education and Sports, VNU to implement activities and physical training programs to improve health for staff, civil servants and students. The Association will also continue to improve clubs and establish new clubs. At the same time, increase participation in competitions such as Football, Table Tennis, Tennis, Badminton organized by VNU, departments and units. Organize the School-wide Sports Festival with 5 competitions: Athletics, Football, Table Tennis, Badminton, Aerobics.

Speaking at the Congress, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh emphasized: Sports activities are one of the indispensable activities of a university. Participating in sports activities, the school's staff, civil servants and students will have the opportunity to practice physical training, ensuring health for teaching, studying and scientific research. On behalf of the school's leadership, the Vice Principal thanked the Executive Committee of the School's Sports Association of the previous term for their valuable contributions to the Association's work. The Vice Principal hopes that the new Executive Committee will continue to promote the spirit of sportsmanship to build and develop sports activities for the school's staff, civil servants and students.
