Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv has 6 constituent schools and 14 affiliated faculties, with 2000 staff members, including 600 professors, offering training in many fields of Natural Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities, Economics, Law, and Technology. Notably, since 2012, the University has become the first and only institution in Ukraine and surrounding countries to officially offer a Vietnamese language program (at the Faculty of Oriental Languages).

At this meeting, the leaders of both sides signed a formal cooperation agreement outlining specific collaborative activities: student and faculty exchange; and joint organization of scientific conferences. In particular, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will support the development of the Vietnamese language program at Kyiv National University.

Following that, on October 24th, the delegation held a working session at Tashkent University of Oriental Studies (Uzbekistan).

Tashkent University of Oriental Studies has launched its second cohort of Vietnamese language students. The university has a Vietnamese Language and Culture Center, established in 2013, which is the first and only such center in Central Asia to date.

During the meeting, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities committed to supporting the development of the Vietnamese language program at Tashkent University of Oriental Studies by assisting in training Vietnamese language lecturers and establishing a research center on Vietnam, thereby contributing to the advancement of the Vietnamese language program and promoting the image of Vietnam in the Central Asian region. The two sides will also collaborate on research and the publication of joint research results.

For a long time, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and Tashkent University of Oriental Studies welcomed thousands of Vietnamese students for study and research. This positive past relationship will be an important foundation for future cooperation between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the two universities.
