As of October 2019, the Veterans Association of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities had 31 members, organized into 7 branches, including 29 Party members, and 14 members elected to Party committees at various levels.

Over the past year, members of the Association have effectively participated in the school's activities, strictly adhering to training regulations and labor discipline, contributing to improving the quality of education. As educators and scientists, the members have exemplary fulfilled their assigned professional duties, actively carrying out scientific research tasks such as conducting research projects, writing scientific articles, participating in seminars and academic exchange programs... The teachers have also successfully implemented the campaigns of the education sector such as: "Studying and following the thoughts, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh," "Every teacher, educator, and educational administrator is a role model in ethics, self-study, and creativity"...

In particular, the University's Veterans Association has effectively coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the University's Student Association in disseminating and educating the younger generation about revolutionary traditions, thereby inspiring noble ideals and a spirit of humanity and compassion among students.

The outstanding activities of the School's Veterans Association over the past year include: coordinating with the "Forever 20 Years Old" Fund to organize the "Sacred Vietnam" program; a "Back to the Roots" journey to visit the Lang Son battlefield; participating in the international scientific conference "Memories, Recollections and Archival Documents about Vietnam - Humanistic Values Viewed from Multiple Perspectives"; coordinating with the School's Trade Union and Youth Union to visit wounded soldiers at the Center for Nurturing and Rehabilitation of Meritorious People in Thai Binh province; and meeting with wounded soldiers and relatives of martyrs currently working at the school, to express gratitude for the sacrifices of the previous generation...

With these achievements, the Veterans Association of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Comrade Pham Thanh Hung (member) were honored to receive a Certificate of Commendation from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association.

At the conference, members proposed the need for a form of tribute and commemoration of generations of teachers and students who were martyrs within the university campus. The period when hundreds of lecturers and students of Hanoi University "put aside their pens" to go to war – including those who became martyrs and Heroes of the People's Armed Forces such as Le Anh Xuan and Chu Cam Phong – will forever be a glorious chapter in the history of the university and the country. These precious spiritual values and traditions need to be widely disseminated among students.

In addition, members of the Veterans Association of the Faculty of Humanities - who are educators, scientists, and administrators in the field of education - also pondered and discussed how the Veterans Association of the University could further affirm its pioneering and key role in "passing on the torch" and educating revolutionary ethics to the younger generation.

Attending and speaking at the Conference, Vice Rector Hoang Anh Tuan respectfully acknowledged the practical results that the School's Veterans Association had achieved in the past year, especially in spreading revolutionary moral traditions, multiplying the humanistic spirit of the Vietnamese nation, and fostering the tradition of "drinking water, remembering the source" among the teachers and students of the School.

At the same time, Vice Rector Hoang Anh Tuan called on members to actively participate in providing feedback and advice on short-term activity plans and long-term development strategies of the School.

On the occasion of attending the Conference and to express gratitude for the contributions of the school's veterans, Vice Principal Hoang Anh Tuan donated 5 million VND to the Association's operating fund; and hoped that the meaningful activities of the Association would continue to receive support, both material and spiritual, from individuals and groups inside and outside the school.
