The workshop is a traditional annual event between the two faculties, providing an opportunity for scientists to share new research findings and further promote collaborative research and training in Vietnamese language and Vietnamese studies.

Principal Pham Quang Minh delivered a speech at the seminar.
In his opening remarks, Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh highly appreciated the effective and long-standing cooperative relationship between the two faculties as a prime example of collaborative development between two national universities of the country. This connection has contributed to the remarkable achievements of both faculties in many fields in recent times.
In 2015, the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities pioneered and completed the development of the "Vietnamese Language Proficiency Framework for Foreigners". In June 2016, the Ministry of Education and Training issued the exam format based on this competency assessment framework. This is a significant milestone in the field of teaching Vietnamese to foreigners and demonstrates the competence and prestige of the university's scientific staff in general, and the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Language in particular. Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh suggested that the Faculty should focus on disseminating this competency assessment framework to relevant agencies and organizations both domestically and internationally, and plan to send staff to partner organizations for training on its use and practical application.
Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh also emphasized that the fields of Vietnamese Studies and the Vietnamese language have never faced such a strong opportunity for development as they do now. Visits by foreign heads of state and the strong influx of foreign businesses and companies into Vietnam have helped Vietnamese Studies gain an increasingly important position and role. This is a good opportunity for the Faculty to reflect and find solutions to elevate this field of study to a new level of development, making it more accessible to a wider range of people in society.
