On the morning of November 17, 2012, the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language organized a meeting of generations of teachers.Attending the meeting were Prof. Dr. Vu Duong Ninh, Chairman of the Association of Former Teachers of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Mr. Duong Minh Thu, Director of the International Student Center, Ministry of Education and Training, visiting teachers at the Faculty, most of the retired former teachers of the Faculty, teachers of the Faculty who have transferred to other jobs, all staff of the Faculty and collaborators. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thien Nam, Head of the Faculty warmly welcomed the guests and generations of teachers to the meeting. The Head of the Faculty reviewed the development process of the Faculty, the current situation of the Faculty and the future development orientation, warmly congratulated and wished good health to generations of teachers on Vietnamese Teachers' Day.

The delegates were also interested in the images shown recording activities and moments in the life of a teacher from the 60s-70s, the 80s, 90s, the 2000s and present. Prof. Dr. Vu Duong Ninh - Chairman of the School's Alumni Association - highly appreciated the cohesive activities of the Alumni Association of the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language, and expressed his joy at the strong development of the Faculty in recent years and especially in the current period. Associate Professor Nguyen Thach Giang, now 86 years old, is one of the people who contributed to laying the first bricks for training Vietnamese language and Vietnamese culture for foreigners. He briefly recounted the early days of establishing the Vietnamese Language Department, the predecessor of the Faculty of Vietnamese Language, now the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language. He recalled with pride that, due to a special request in the 1970s, with the efforts of the former Head of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Hoang Trong Phien, the Faculty of Vietnamese was the first place to organize training and successfully defend the Associate Doctorate thesis (now called Doctorate) in the country for foreign PhD students. The late Minister Nguyen Dinh Tu personally attended the opening ceremony at the 4th floor Hall of Building B7 bis at that time, and the late Professor Nguyen Nhu Kon Tum (former Rector of Hanoi National University) attended from the beginning to the end of the defense. Associate Professor Nguyen Thach Giang also believed that the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese would certainly have a bright future.
