The 2012 Singing Contest for staff and students with the theme "Singing about the border, sea and islands of the homeland" organized by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities took place with great success on November 17, 2012 at the Me Tri Dormitory Cultural House.The contest is an opportunity for the school's staff and students to promote the tradition of cultural and artistic activities, love for the homeland and country, and to show their respect for the soldiers who are guarding every inch of the country's borders and islands day and night. At the same time, this is also one of the practical activities to celebrate Vietnamese Teachers' Day, November 20. 17 participating units performed Vietnamese songs permitted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on the theme of borders and islands; in many different forms such as solo, duet, trio, group singing, choir... Each faculty and department is a participating unit in the contest; Union I, II and III of the Principal's block and 2+2 student classes are 1 participating unit. Each unit has at least 2 entries and has a maximum of 15 minutes to perform the contest program. The jury of this year's contest includes: Meritorious Artist Bich Viet, Vietnam Artists Association - Head of the jury; Artist Van Vuong, Vietnam Artists Association; Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Duc Nghieu - Vice Principal of the School. 45 entries from 17 units brought to the contest colorful performances with different levels of emotions. The contest has contributed to further expanding the exchange environment between staff and students, enriching the cultural and spiritual life and honoring the teacher-student relationship, solidarity in work and study, joining hands to build the School to develop more and more. In the end, the Faculty of Information - Library won the collective first prize. The organizing committee also selected 5 excellent entries to perform at the Vietnam Teachers' Day Celebration on the morning of November 19, 2012.
