On November 16, 2012, the Faculty of Management Science solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Faculty's founding (2002-2012).Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Cong Soai - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee; Mr. Trinh Ngoc Thach - Deputy Head of the National Assembly's Committee for Culture, Youth, Adolescents and Children; Mr. Ho Quang Loi - Head of the Hanoi Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Thuyet - former Deputy Head of the National Assembly's Committee for Culture, Education, Youth, Adolescents and Children, former Head of the Department of Management Science; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Xuan Hang - former Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, former Head of the Department of Management Science; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Principal of the School - together with representatives of central agencies, departments, professors, scientists, officials, generations of students of the Faculty of Management Science... After 10 years of construction and development, the Faculty of Management Science has gradually developed and become a high-quality training and scientific research institution, well meeting the needs of management human resources in the period of industrialization and modernization of the country. Dr. Tran Van Hai - Head of the Faculty of Management Science - in his welcoming speech at the 10th anniversary of the Faculty's establishment, reviewed the outstanding achievements of the Faculty over the past 10 years in all aspects of its activities. Specifically: In terms of training, over the past 10 years, the Faculty of Management Science has trained 1,080 full-time bachelors (including 107 high-quality bachelors), 1,022 part-time students, and 252 masters of Science and Technology Management. In particular, since 2004, the Faculty has been one of four units of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities assigned to train high-quality bachelors and since 2010, the Faculty has been assigned to train Masters in Management Science. Currently, the Faculty is preparing conditions to receive the task of training PhDs in Science and Technology Management from 2013. From the beginning, there were only 2 Departments, up to now, the Faculty has 4 Departments undertaking the training and research tasks of the Faculty, with 21 permanent lecturers, 11 part-time lecturers and more than 30 guest lecturers from universities and research institutes at home and abroad.
Scientific research activities of staff have contributed to improving the professional capacity of lecturers and the quality of training. In recent years, the Faculty of Management Science has coordinated with the Department of Intellectual Property to organize a Student Scientific Conference on Intellectual Property, attracting the participation of students of the Faculty and a number of universities in Hanoi. The system of textbooks, lectures, and reference materials has always been focused on. Up to now, the Faculty has built 84 complete sets of learning materials for 89 subjects in the undergraduate training program, 21 sets of learning materials for 24 topics in the master's training program. Also on this occasion, Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Xuan Hang - former Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, former Head of the Faculty of Management Science - was honored to receive the First Class Labor Medal awarded by the President.
Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Ho Quang Loi congratulated the Faculty of Management Science and sent his best wishes to the teachers of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Vietnam Teachers' Day. In the face of the increasing social demand for management human resources, he hoped that the Faculty of Management Science would continue to be proactive and creative in the coming time, deserving to be a trusted address in training and developing high-quality management human resources for the country. On behalf of the school's leadership, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Rector - congratulated and highly appreciated the achievements of the Faculty of Management Science over the 10-year journey of construction and development. The School's leaders hope and believe that the staff and students of the Faculty of Management Science will continue to strive to effectively implement training programs at all three levels: bachelor's, master's and doctoral, promote scientific research activities, expand domestic and international cooperation to quickly bring the Faculty to the level of a leading center for training, management and policy research in Vietnam and the region in the future.
