At the reception, Professor Pham Quang Minh briefly introduced the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The university currently has over 10,000 students, including more than 800 international students. To contribute to its internationalization strategy, the university has established cooperative relationships with over 300 partners, including Korean universities such as Seoul National University, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Busan University of Foreign Studies, and Hanyang University. The Faculty of Oriental Studies is also one of the leading institutions for Korean studies in Vietnam. The Rector expressed hope that, following the signing of the memorandum of understanding, both sides could quickly promote cooperation.
On behalf of the Korean side, Dr. Kang Hee Sung (President of Howon University) expressed his pleasure at visiting a prestigious educational institution in Vietnam like the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. He stated that, given the increasing trend of Korean universities sending students to study in Vietnam, Howon University is no exception. He proposed that the two universities focus on cooperation in highly applied fields such as Tourism Studies, Journalism and Communication, and Korean and Vietnamese Studies.

Based on that, the representatives of the two sides signed a memorandum of cooperation. Accordingly, the two universities committed to: exchanging staff, lecturers, and students; cooperating in the implementation and exchange of research results; exchanging learning materials, publications, and scientific information; sharing resources and personnel in the field of libraries and other services; and other educational and academic exchanges as agreed upon by both sides.

Howon University was founded in 1977 as Gunsan Industrial College and officially became a university in 1998. It currently has 7,334 students and approximately 600 faculty members. The university offers 40 majors across six faculties: the Faculty of Social Sciences, the Faculty of Tourism, the Faculty of Media and Arts, the Faculty of Health and Welfare, the Faculty of Physical Education, and the Faculty of Science and Engineering.
