Receiving the delegation of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (China)

At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim briefly introduced the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The Faculty of Oriental Studies of the University is one of the leading research and training addresses for Chinese studies in Vietnam. The University has relationships with more than 300 partners and has welcomed many international students, of which Chinese students account for the majority. Many Chinese students who graduated from the University have become experts in Vietnamese language and culture, ambassadors and diplomats in Vietnam. The Vice President hopes that the two universities can promote practical cooperation in the future.

In response, Mr. Tran Cuong expressed his thanks for the warm welcome of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Mr. Tran Cuong said that at the Central China University of Science and Technology, there are currently 4,000 international students, including 200 Vietnamese students. The Central China University of Science and Technology attaches great importance to expanding relations with universities in neighboring countries, including Vietnam. He proposed that the two sides carry out activities such as organizing 2+2, 1+3 joint programs; implementing joint research projects; short-term and long-term student and lecturer exchanges.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim highly appreciated Mr. Tran Cuong's cooperation ideas and hoped that the two sides would soon sign an official cooperation agreement. The Vice President also hoped that the two schools would co-organize future seminars and academic discussions on topics of mutual interest.

Huazhong University of Science and Technology is a comprehensive university in Wuhan, Hubei Province. The predecessor of the school was Huazhong Institute of Technology, founded in 1952. In 2000, Huazhong University of Technology and Tongji Medical University merged to form Huazhong University of Science and Technology. The school has 60,000 students, including 30,000 postgraduates. The school offers 90 majors, including majors in social sciences and humanities such as Sociology, Philosophy, Chinese Language and Culture, History, and Journalism.
