Professor and Rector Pham Quang Minh speaks at the dialogue session.
Dialogue between the school's leadership and students is an activity organized every academic year to create opportunities for students of all years and majors to express their thoughts, aspirations, and desires in their studies and training. The school's leaders listen to students' wishes and answer their questions, while also providing additional information about the school's policies, directions, and development. Furthermore, students' suggestions and initiatives can help lead to appropriate adjustments in management.

Associate Professor Tran Thi Minh Hoa - Vice Rector of the University, answered questions from the students.
Many promises made by the school's leadership during the dialogue with students in the 2018-2019 academic year have been realized this year, such as: the school canteen has been upgraded and put into operation, ensuring that staff and students have a place to eat delicious, hygienic food at reasonable prices; and classrooms in building G have been completed and upgraded with new doors and air conditioning systems.

During the dialogue, students also received information from their teachers about recent changes at the university: the High School for Social Sciences and Humanities, affiliated with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, was recently established; training programs have been reformed to be more up-to-date and relevant to practical training, aiming for interdisciplinary approaches and enhanced international integration; and facilities are being gradually improved...
The dialogue between the school's leadership and students for the 2019-2020 academic year was held later than usual. Instead of at the end of December – the end of the first semester – the dialogue was held at the beginning of January, one week after students had started the second semester. This allowed students to present their aspirations regarding issues from the previous semester, as well as matters related to the new semester.

Several issues were raised and commented on by many students, such as: weak Wi-Fi network at the school, lack of meters in classrooms, insufficient facilities during the construction of the Specialized School for Social Sciences and Humanities, and excessive parking in the schoolyard affecting the students' shared living space…

Associate Professor Bui Thanh Nam - Head of the Training Department, provided information to students regarding the training process and schedule.
Associate Professor Tran Thi Minh Hoa, Vice Rector of the University, representing the university leadership, answered the students' questions. In the near future, each classroom will be equipped with an additional clock to meet the legitimate needs of students. The university will also work with the parking management unit to reduce noise and dust caused by motorbikes entering the campus. She also stated that the university is striving to improve and upgrade the Wi-Fi system to ensure stable and smooth operation, with appropriate user management and tiered access for faculty and students.

The school's leadership listened to and addressed more than 30 student requests.
Regarding regulations, schedules, and learning conditions, Associate Professor Bui Thanh Nam - Head of the Training Department - answered questions from students who were unclear about the regulations: Students can register for a thesis when they have accumulated 100 credits or more; regulations related to converting IELTS scores to other foreign language courses at the Faculty of Oriental Studies are currently being finalized; German language certificates cannot be converted to foreign language courses… Responding to the situation in the last semester, where some students in the Faculty of Literature were affected by the make-up class schedule in week 16 coinciding with the exam schedule, with some students having to take multiple exams in one day, the professor suggested that if students feel the exam schedule is unsuitable, they should proactively contact the Training Department for a solution as soon as possible.

The new integration of the Military Training program with the Physical Education program has also received much attention from students. Instead of the 28-day Military Training period as in previous years, some universities within the Vietnam National University, Hanoi have integrated the Military Training period with the Physical Education program for first-year students, and the training time at Hoa Lac will be extended by two weeks. This process will be considered and reviewed by the university leadership in the near future.

Over 30 direct questions from participating students were answered and recorded by the university's leadership. During the dialogue, Professor Pham Quang Minh, the Rector, shared the university's direction in transforming its curriculum towards interdisciplinary integration, increasing the time and effectiveness of internships and practical training. Several courses in the training program have been reformed to meet the learning needs of students in the new context. The innovative and creative teaching activities of the faculty are spreading throughout the university. He also affirmed that, with the goal of improving the quality of teaching and learning, the dialogue between the university leadership and students will always be emphasized and promoted. The university will incorporate student feedback and make adjustments in its management to build a high-quality, modern, friendly, and flexible learning environment that meets the needs of learners.
