The moment of welcoming new students.

Each new student has their own unique feelings.

first vibration

"My first impression upon entering the school was that it was truly magnificent. Unlike other schools, the classrooms are mostly painted a vibrant yellow, and the campus is very beautiful. If I had known beforehand, I would have worn a yellow dress to stand out. My father brought me to enroll, so I didn't feel nervous or overwhelmed," shared Nguyen Minh Van, a new student majoring in Public Relations.

Unlike Van, Minh Thu, who went to enroll alone, had a different feeling about the University of Social Sciences and Humanities: "Having to go to enrollment alone was a bit strange at first, but I found the enrollment day really fun. Today I also met and made quite a few friends."

Unable to hide her joy at becoming a student, Pham Thu Hong, a new student of the K60 cohort in the Faculty of Journalism and Communication, shared her feelings upon arriving at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities: "On the first day, I arrived early, and the initial feeling was one of nervousness and excitement. After days of dreaming, I have officially become a new student of the University. Now I feel happy and relieved, while some of my friends are still worried about registering, I have already officially become a new student."

Minh Thu, a freshman in the K60 cohort, was equally enthusiastic: “I am very happy that as soon as I arrived at the university, I received a lot of support from senior students. This positive impression will certainly be a beautiful memory and a motivation for me to strive during my university years. I hope next year I will be able to participate in welcoming and guiding the students in the following cohorts.”

Impressions of different fields of study

For many years, the Faculty of Journalism and Communication at the University has been a reliable choice for young people who love journalism. Tran Thu Phuong (from Hanoi), who applied to the Journalism major, said when asked why she chose Journalism at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities: “I know many seniors who have studied at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and I know that the environment at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is exemplary, disciplined, but also very friendly. Since childhood, I've been passionate about traveling, so I decided to choose the Faculty of Journalism and Communication. The Faculty of Journalism and Communication is considered a dynamic faculty, and the seniors are all very friendly. I couldn't sleep last night, but now I'm very excited and nervous. I hope to be able to work alongside the student volunteers, become a good student, and practice journalism well.”

Meanwhile, Ha Thi Diu, despite being from Son La, still traveled all the way to Hanoi to study Anthropology at the university. Diu shared: “I like researching human beings. I want to work in a field related to humans, and I really want to know how I came into existence from an evolutionary perspective. This is my first time at the university. The facilities are excellent and the teachers are very enthusiastic. I also didn't encounter any difficulties during the enrollment process because the teachers created the best possible conditions for me.”

Unlike Thu Phuong and Dieu, Ha Thi Trinh from Hoa Binh, despite not getting into the Faculty of Oriental Studies at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in last year's university entrance exam, still decided to choose the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to study, only this time she chose the Tourism and Travel Management major in the Faculty of Tourism Studies. “The University of Social Sciences and Humanities is the largest social science training university in the country, so I also wanted to study there. My high school homeroom teacher also advised me to study there. Last year I applied to Oriental Studies but didn't get in. This year I applied to the Faculty of Tourism Studies – a dynamic major with good job prospects. My first impression of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities is that the campus is very spacious, clean, and beautiful,” Trinh shared.

Future plans and intentions

Minh Vân said that after the enrollment ceremony, she plans to register to be a class representative. Vân confided: "I'm very happy to participate in group activities and student organizations, but I'm also a little worried because I'm still unfamiliar with many things and I feel that my responsibilities will be greater. But I will try my best to live up to the trust of my teachers and classmates."

As for Thu, "I know the school has a high-quality program, so I plan to apply to the high-quality program in Management Science. I hope to achieve good academic results like I did in high school."

"For now, I want to settle into my new environment. During the school year, I will try my best to study well. I plan to learn English and computer skills to help me throughout my studies and future career," shared Ha Thi Trinh.

Each new student at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities experiences a myriad of different emotions. They have chosen this place, a traditional university, a leader in the field of social sciences and humanities in Vietnam, to open the way for their future. We wish them continued success on their journey ahead, and that they become outstanding students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
