
Associate Professor Dr. Dang Xuan Khang, Chairman of the University's Trade Union, is presenting the report summarizing the trade union's activities for the 2014-2015 academic year.
Attending the conference were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Quy, Vice President of the Trade Union of Vietnam National University, Hanoi; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh, Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities; the Presidents of the Trade Unions of various units; and outstanding trade union members of the University.
Representing the School's Trade Union Executive Committee, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Xuan Khang - Chairman of the School's Trade Union - presented the report summarizing the trade union's work in the 2014-2015 academic year. The report clearly stated that in the past academic year, the trade union had successfully carried out many practical activities such as: caring for the lives and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the staff and workers; participating in building harmonious and stable labor relations; implementing the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws and regulations; developing the teaching staff and educational management staff; organizing patriotic emulation movements and large-scale social campaigns among the staff and workers; innovating the content and methods of trade union activities, improving the quality of staff and the effectiveness of the activities of the education trade union at all levels, building a strong trade union, and participating in building a clean and strong Party...
In addition, the report also outlined the specific direction for trade union work in the 2015-2016 academic year as follows:
Firstly, in coordination with the government, we will motivate staff and faculty to strive to successfully complete the academic year's tasks, strengthen the training of qualified staff, and accelerate the development of the university into a research university.
Secondly, strengthen the education of union members on national pride, patriotism, and national sovereignty; strictly adhere to the Party and State's policies and guidelines, and thoroughly understand the educational reform program according to Resolution No. 8 of the 11th Central Committee.
Thirdly, continue activities aimed at strengthening discipline in work, teaching, and learning, building a modern and integrated school culture while preserving national cultural identity.
Fourth, continue to pay even more attention to improving the material and spiritual lives of cadres and civil servants.
Fifth, organize practical activities to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the school's founding and the 70th anniversary of its founding.
Sixth, successfully complete the task of hosting the activities of the cluster of trade unions of 5 universities with the theme of trade unions in building research universities.

Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh, Vice Rector of the University, presented awards to the trade union groups that achieved outstanding results in the past year.
The conference then proceeded to discuss and solicit feedback from union members on the draft revised Penal Code. After the conference, the union continued to receive feedback on the draft until August 28, 2015.
During the past academic year, the School's Trade Union, as well as the trade unions of various units, have effectively fulfilled their functions and duties, making a significant contribution to the successful achievement of the School's academic year objectives. For these contributions, many collectives and individuals have been commended and awarded certificates of merit by trade union leaders at all levels.
– 3 certificates of commendation for collectives from the Chairman of the Trade Union of Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
– 8 certificates of commendation for groups and 79 certificates of commendation for individuals from the School's Trade Union Executive Committee.
