Establishment
Under the guidance of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and especially thanks to the founding idea of Mr. Duong Xuan Quang (lecturer in the Faculty of Linguistics, member of the Standing Committee of the University's Youth Union) and Ms. Phan Hai Ngan - who has been involved with this model for many years, the Cultural and Historical Propaganda Club was established based on its predecessor, the Thang Long - Hanoi Cultural and Historical Propaganda Team.
On August 13, 2014, the first meeting took place to lay the foundation for the establishment of the Cultural and Historical Propaganda Club, electing the Executive Board through the consensus of the members and developing a plan and activity schedule for the Club. Currently, the Club's structure includes the Executive Board and functional boards, which comprise several smaller boards: the personnel board, the external relations board, the communications board, and the content board. The Executive Board and management teams will operate on a one-year term. After one year of stable operation, the Club will hold a General Assembly to elect a new Executive Board to replace the old one, selecting active members for the overall management structure. The new Executive Board must be approved by at least 60% of the votes of the old Executive Board.
Currently, the club's president is Phan Hai Ngan (K56 International Studies). Members come from various faculties such as Vietnamese Studies, International Studies, Tourism Studies, and Oriental Studies. The total number of members is currently 110, and each year, recruitment drives are held in early June and July to select enthusiastic young people passionate about the club's activities.
The club's activities take place at key historical sites and scenic spots in the capital city, such as the Temple of Literature, Thang Long Imperial Citadel, the Vietnam National History Museum, the Ho Chi Minh Museum, and the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology. These are places that attract a large number of domestic and international tourists. The club's activities are scheduled to coincide with major events throughout the year, but primarily during the summer.

Honoring the cultural and historical values of the nation.
The club was established to bring together students who are passionate about culture and history in general, and the culture and history of the Vietnamese nation in particular, and who want to share these beautiful cultural aspects with a wider audience both domestically and internationally. It provides a healthy and beneficial platform for students to share their professional knowledge and develop soft skills during their university studies. The establishment of the club has further promoted the youth movement at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, as well as among the youth of Hanoi.
Joining the club right from her first year, Phan Hai Ngan (a student from the Faculty of International Studies) and also the club's president, shared her heartfelt thoughts: "To do any job well, it must stem from love and passion. I always yearn to learn about and spread my passion for the culture and history of our nation to international friends. I have contributed my youthful energy to preserving and honoring the traditional values of our nation."
The club also provides an environment for students to learn and improve their knowledge while fostering a spirit of solidarity. “Joining the club gives me an environment to learn, interact, and develop myself, as well as discover my hidden potential. I’ve gained a lot of knowledge and life experience from the club’s activities, but the best thing is the lessons about solidarity and helping each other overcome difficulties,” Ngân shared.
The club has created a practical, experiential environment for students in guiding tourists. It promotes and showcases the image of Vietnamese people as hospitable, civilized, elegant, modern, yet traditional, to friends both domestically and internationally. At the same time, the club has maximized the internal resources of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, attracting students with a passion for the culture and history of Hanoi in particular and Vietnam in general. As a result, students are given opportunities to apply their professional knowledge, develop their foreign language skills, and hone their soft skills.

As the club's leader, Phan Hai Ngan shared her thoughts: "I sincerely hope to expand this model so that not only humanities students but also students from other universities have the opportunity to participate in promoting national culture and history to international friends. I hope that from their first year, students can become aware of their responsibility in preserving and honoring the cultural and historical values of the nation."
With its unique operating model and contributions to the overall movement, the Cultural and Historical Propaganda Club has been repeatedly selected as a model of exemplary activity in the student movement of universities, and has received numerous commendations from the Youth Union at various levels.
