The school's management board met with and extended New Year greetings to former teachers of the school at the beginning of the Year of the Goat (2015).

This morning (February 6, 2015), the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held a gathering to celebrate the 2015 Lunar New Year and to commemorate the 80th, 85th, and 90th birthdays of former faculty members of the University. Many scientists, administrators, and educators who have been staff members of the University from various generations attended the gathering.

The school's management board met with and extended New Year greetings to former teachers of the school at the beginning of the Year of the Goat (2015).

Professor, Doctor, People's Teacher Nguyen Van Khanh, Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector of the School, delivered a congratulatory speech.

Professor Nguyen Van Khanh, on behalf of the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the University, extended New Year greetings to the teachers and their families, and expressed gratitude for their significant contributions to the development of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

The Rector also reviewed the outstanding achievements that the School had accomplished in 2014:

In terms of staff development, the University has recruited 21 staff members from two centers of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, bringing the total number of staff to approximately 530. Six faculty members have been recognized as Professors and Associate Professors by the National Council for Academic Titles, bringing the total number of staff holding academic titles to over 20%, and the number of staff holding doctoral degrees to 50%.

Regarding training activities, the University continues its planning for the development of majors and specializations until 2020. In 2014, the University organized enrollment for one new major and two new specializations. Currently, the University has 23 undergraduate programs, 57 master's and doctoral programs. The number of full-time students is over 8000, and the number of postgraduate students is nearly 3000.

2014 was a particularly successful year for scientific research activities. The university successfully bid for 14 national-level research projects and protocols, 17 Nafosted Fund projects, 3 Hanoi City-level projects, along with dozens of university-level and VNU-level projects. University staff won numerous science and technology awards at various levels, 5 book collections won the Best Book award, and 2 research groups were recognized as strong research groups at the VNU-level, publishing approximately 600 scientific papers.

Associate Professor Nguyen Van Ham (Vice President of the School's Retired Teachers Association) is reviewing the activities that the Retired Teachers Association has done in 2014.

The Rector emphasized that the development of the University today owes a great deal to the contributions of its retired faculty members. Despite their retirement, these teachers continue to actively participate in research and training activities, contributing valuable insights to the University's development strategy. With their knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm, they are not only a valuable asset to the University but also a shining example for future generations to follow.

Professor Nguyen Van Khanh also expressed his hope to continue receiving the help and support of former faculty members in the upcoming development phase, especially in the context of 2015, a year with many important activities for the university. This year is leading up to the 27th Party Congress of the University (the University was selected as the model unit for the entire Vietnam National University, Hanoi). In this year, the university also organizes many major commemorative activities: the 70th anniversary of the University's founding and the 20th anniversary of the traditional day of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Associate Professor Nguyen Van Ham (Vice President of the Association of Retired Faculty Members of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) on behalf of all retired faculty members of the University reviewed the activities that the Association had done in 2014; and at the same time affirmed the joy and pride of each member of the Association in witnessing the new developments of the University - a common home containing the dedication and affection of generations of teachers.

Also at the New Year's gathering, the school organized a ceremony to congratulate former teachers who turned 80, 85, and 90, expressing the respect and gratitude of the younger generation towards the seniors who have made significant contributions to the school's development.

Professor Nguyen Van Khanh and Professor Vu Duong Ninh congratulated the former faculty members of the school on their 80th birthday.
