Female staff of University of Social Sciences and Humanities: Good at school work, good at housework

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of International Women's Day (March 8, 1911 - March 8, 2011), ussh.edu.vn introduces the full text of the article by Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Xuan Khang - Chairman of the School's Trade Union - acknowledging and highly appreciating the role and great contributions of female staff in the School.
On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of International Women's Day (March 8, 1911 - March 8, 2011), ussh.edu.vn introduces the full text of the article by Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Xuan Khang - Chairman of the School's Trade Union - acknowledging and highly appreciating the role and great contributions of female staff in the School. With 256 female staff, including 175 female lecturers and 81 female administrative staff, accounting for 52.5% of the total number of staff in the school, women's work and the women's movement have a special position in completing the political and professional tasks of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Over the years, with their efforts, solidarity and creativity, the collective of female staff, female lecturers and lecturers in the school have excellently completed their assigned tasks and made many positive and important contributions to the overall success of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the school always highly appreciate the role and great contributions of female staff in the school. In fact, the sisters have constantly strived and made important contributions to the overall achievements of the school, taking on most of the different areas of work such as: teaching, serving teaching, research, participating in management and collective activities. In any field of work, the women always try their best, are dedicated and have a sense of responsibility in the assigned work. The female lecturers of the School have actively participated in teaching many subjects, in many different types of training such as full-time, part-time, diploma II, master's, doctoral students... Many women have had to arrange family work to teach part-time classes in distant provinces; or participate in teaching part-time classes in the evening. Although the process of converting from year-based training to credit training has many new things, the women have been active, proactive in learning and quickly adapting to the requirements of the new type of training. Many women have 2 to 3 times more class hours than the standard number of hours. The teaching hours of many women have really attracted the attention of students, and are highly appreciated by students and colleagues. In addition, they also participate and make practical contributions to different stages of the training process. They are very active in compiling course outlines, lectures, and textbooks according to the credit training method, participating in guiding students in writing topics, essays, theses, dissertations, and dissertations, and guiding internships and practice. Many young female cadres also take on and do well the work of homeroom teachers and academic advisors. It can be said that female cadres have made extremely important contributions to improving the training quality of the school. In order to have high quality teaching hours, female cadres of the school have been very active in scientific research. In the past 5 years, more than 150 of them have presided over many scientific research topics at all levels: 70 topics at the school level, 72 topics at the Hanoi National University level, and 08 basic topics. Many of them also participate in interdisciplinary research topics, in coordination with other agencies. The number of works and research articles of female staff published in domestic and international scientific journals is increasing in both quality and quantity. Along with scientific research, the female staff is constantly improving their professional qualifications to better undertake the assigned tasks. In the management work of the School, almost all Faculties, Departments and Offices have the participation and active contribution of female staff. They always ensure working hours, work according to regulations, even have to work overtime, extra shifts on many days, especially during enrollment, semester exams, and graduation exams. Promoting the good qualities of women, with perseverance, diligence, careful nature and scientific working methods, they have helped the School grasp timely and accurate information to make effective management decisions. In addition, female staff also hold a number of important positions in the school's management staff such as: Head of Department: 04/14; Vice Deans of Faculty: 07; Directors of Centers under the School: 4/12; Vice Directors of Centers under the School: 03/7; Deputy Heads of Departments: 05/8; Heads of Departments under the Faculty: 03; Vice Heads of Departments under the Faculty: 07. They also actively participate in union activities: Party Committee members (02/15), Party cell secretaries (03/18), School Union Executive Committee (09), Chairs of Department Unions (8/18). Along with completing their work well at the School, female cadres always take care of building family life. Their diligence is shown in their love and care for their parents, husbands and children, and in the fact that they have to skillfully arrange and organize family work to go to school, go to class on time, and teach part-time in remote areas. In particular, in the matter of raising children, female cadres have put in a lot of effort, and in return, most of their children have achieved the title of good children and good students. The number of children achieving the title of excellent students increases every year. Many children pass the entrance exam or are transferred directly to universities. In the family, many women both strive and create conditions for their husbands to complete their careers. Some women whose families are in particularly difficult circumstances have constantly strived to raise their children and stabilize their family life... In life, women always promote the spirit of mutual love and support, helping friends, colleagues, and students in times of difficulty and adversity. It can be said that the achievements in work at school partly reflect the responsibility in family work, and vice versa, the stability and happiness in the family have given them the strength to complete their work at school. Summing up 5 years of the movement "Good at school work - Good at housework", the female staff of the School received a Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Education and Training, 01 individual received a Certificate of Merit from the Vietnam Education Trade Union, 04 groups and 29 individuals achieved the title "Good at school work - Good at housework" at the Hanoi National University level and many groups and individuals achieved the title at the School level. In addition to the achievements in the movement "Good at school work - Good at home work", female cadres have also achieved many awards at all levels: 567 female cadres achieved the title of advanced workers, 121 female cadres achieved the title of emulation fighters at the grassroots level, 24 emulation fighters at the Hanoi National University level, 29 certificates of merit at the National University level... The above achievements are thanks to the effective attention and direction of the Vietnam Education Trade Union, the Hanoi National University Trade Union, especially the direct leadership and deep attention of the Party Committee, the School Board, the Party Cell, the Department Heads have created all conditions to support the development of the female cadres. With their practical actions, the female cadres of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities always actively contribute to the movement of studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh. Promoting the fine tradition, the female staff of the School has been and is continuing to build the image and style of dynamism, creativity and bravery of Vietnamese women in the new era. Their hands, minds and enthusiasm are contributing every day to the growth of the School, for the cause of educating people and developing the country.
