Welcoming the delegation of Valaya Alongkorn University

On February 21, 2011, Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Duc Nghieu - Vice Principal of the University - and representatives of the Faculty of Oriental Studies had a meeting and worked with the delegation of Valaya Alongkorn University.The meeting focused on discussing the issue of student and lecturer exchanges between the two schools. The two sides also spent time discussing the joint opening of short-term programs and courses on Thai and Vietnamese languages. At the meeting, Associate Professor Somsiri Arunothai - Vice Rector of Valaya Alongkorn University - invited the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to co-organize an international conference on the environment scheduled to take place in February 2012. Associate Professor Dr. Vu Duc Nghieu thanked Valaya Alongkorn University for visiting and awarding 2 scholarships to students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies to participate in the graduate program at Valaya Alongkorn University in June. In addition, the Vice Rector also proposed some ideas about possible future cooperation between the two schools: joint research on current hot issues such as protecting the ecological environment in the lower Mekong River basin, deforestation, illegal immigration, etc.
