Corporate office management – ​​from theory to practice

The University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Vietnam Association of Business Administrators (VACD) jointly organized the seminar "Corporate Office Management – ​​From Theory to Practice" on April 24, 2013.

The workshop focused on the following topics:

- Clarify the position and role of the office and office management in the enterprise, especially emphasizing the supportive role and impact of office management on the management and production activities of the enterprise during the period of integration, overcoming crises to achieve sustainable development.

- A system of research findings from Vietnam and around the world from a theoretical perspective on office management; clarifying the similarities and differences in office management and office work among different types of businesses.

- Analyze and share experiences from practical office management in a number of specific businesses (members of VACD) to provide a basis for comparison and contrast with theoretical issues and clarify the specific characteristics of offices and office management in businesses in Vietnam.

- To exchange and share with business managers specific directions, solutions, and experiences to improve the capacity and effectiveness of corporate governance in the current and future context.

- Clarify the requirements and solutions for equipping and enhancing the administrative and office skills of the staff in corporate offices.

- Analyzing the principles, requirements, and specific measures that businesses can use to effectively organize and control fundamental office operations, such as: developing programs and activity plans; implementing ISO-standard quality management systems; organizing and managing information systems, document systems, and archived records; managing office assets and equipment; organizing meetings and events; reception and ceremonial activities; and solutions for minimizing and saving office costs…

- Analyze the role of the office in advising and implementing the development of corporate culture, building and promoting the brand for the business.

- Clarify the human resource needs in the field of office administration of businesses and the challenges facing current training programs.

The workshop was attended by scholars from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, delegates from the Association of Business Administrators, corporations, economic groups, and other universities.

The workshop serves as a forum for exchange between scientists and business representatives on the research and application of theoretical issues in corporate governance to practice, aiming to strengthen cooperation between the two sides and practically improve the management capacity and efficiency of Vietnamese businesses.
