These are third and fourth year students with excellent academic achievements, scientific research and active participation in union activities in the 2007-2008 school year, selected from the regular faculties of the university.

On October 29, 2008, the 2008 Chung Soo Scholarship Award Ceremony was held. Attending the ceremony were Mr. Choi Phillip - Chairman of Chung Soo Foundation, Mr. Kim Duk Soon - Director of Chung Soo Foundation, Ms. Kwon Young On - Secretary of Chung Soo Foundation, Mr. Im Hong - Jae - Korean Ambassador to Vietnam, Mr. Paik Nak Whan - former Korean Ambassador to Vietnam, Mr. Duong Chinh Thuc - former Vietnamese Ambassador to Korea. On the school side, there were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Principal, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Gia Lam - Vice Principal.

Mr. Choi also advised students to try to practice so that when the decisive moment comes, we can grasp it to achieve success in life.
Mr. Im Hong-Jae - Korean Ambassador to Vietnam, assessed the activities of the Chung Soo Foundation as having started a meaningful career of supporting and helping young people with good academic performance in Vietnam. The Ambassador compared this work to sowing seeds of hope in the hearts and feelings of Vietnamese students - hardworking and talented young people and believed that from sowing these seeds, good results will be reaped in the future.
Guests representing the Chung Soo Foundation, the Korean Embassy and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities presented scholarships to the students.
The Chung Soo Foundation of Korea was established in 1962 by Mr. Park Chong Hee with the aim of nurturing talents to serve the economic and social development of Korea. The Foundation then expanded its funding to other countries to support the human resource development of some developing countries, including Vietnam. In 2007, the Chung Soo Foundation first awarded scholarships to excellent students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU).
