“Talented leader” – a playground to affirm the mettle and talent of the Youth Union – Association leaders

Emotional finale

The final night was held at 6:30 p.m. on April 6, 2015 at the hall on the 8th floor of Building E with the participation of 9 best candidates. Attending the program were Mr. Nguyen Thien Tu - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Youth Union, Permanent Vice President of the City Student Association, Ms. Vu Huong Lan - Deputy Head of the Youth Union of the City Youth Union, Mr. Truong Ngoc Kiem - Secretary of the Hanoi National University Youth Union, Mr. Vu Van Hai - Chairman of the Hanoi National University Student Association, Associate Professor Dr. Dang Xuan Khang - Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University Trade Union, Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu - Head of the Department of Politics and Student Affairs, Mr. Tran Bach Hieu - Secretary of the University Youth Union, Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Lan - Chairman of the University Student Association, ...

The debate is the decisive part of the top 4 best candidates. Faced with difficult questions with a 2-minute thinking time, the candidates must not only be knowledgeable about the activities of the Union - Association but also have the ability to respond quickly and sharply. The answer of candidate Nguyen Vo Hoai Nam made a strong impression when he shared his thoughts on the slogan of the 6th Congress of the Student Association of the school, term 2013 - 2015: "Humanities Students: Creativity - Connection - Reaching out". The comments and additions of the Jury also contributed to perfecting and strengthening for the candidates and students the necessary factors of a Union - Association leader.

The highlight of the final night was the Solidarity competition - a game organized by the teams themselves. 3 teams with 9 contestants of the final round took turns organizing games, through which each contestant had to demonstrate their ability to stir up and master collective activities. The 3-person team format also required the contestants to have teamwork skills - an indispensable factor for every Union - Association leader. Through this game, the teams sent their messages to the union members and students in the school. The team of the three contestants Nguyen Vo Hoai Nam (K57 Management Science), Tran Thu Nhan (K59 Anthropology) and Nguyen Ngoc Lan (K59 Psychology CLC) scored points with the game that stirred up both the stage and the audience with simple preparation and the profound message "Where there is a need, there is youth - Where there is difficulty, there is youth".

“Talented leader” – Talent, knowledge, solidarity, courage

Before reaching the final night, the contestants had gone through the document qualifying round, presentation round, knowledge and talent competition of the final round. The 9 contestants participating in the final night were excellent representatives of the Union branches and associations, selected from nearly 60 registration documents. The Presentation round was held on March 23, 2015, 20 contestants who passed the document qualifying round directly presented their plan to organize a Union or Association activity that they had built themselves. In addition, the contestants had to quickly answer situational questions posed by the judges.

The knowledge and talent competition (final round) was held on March 31, 2015. 9 contestants had to demonstrate their extensive knowledge not only in the activities of the Youth Union but also the necessary understanding of a leader. The talent competition left many impressions when the contestants showed their own "quality". The judges evaluated the contestants' talents based on their ability to apply them to the activities of the Youth Union to attract and gather students.

The success of “Talented Leader 2015” promises that in the coming years, this will still be a playground for Union and Association leaders with an ever-expanding scale.
