During the meeting, Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh briefly introduced the history of training and research at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, highlighting its status as a leading institution in social sciences and humanities in Vietnam. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities is strengthening its international standing by promoting international publications, teaching international programs, and expanding international cooperation with foreign partners. The Vice-Rector proposed collaboration with Baruch University, suggesting several areas of cooperation between the two universities, such as joint research projects and faculty and student exchanges.

Professor Jeffrey Marc Peck stated that this was his second visit to Vietnam. He welcomed the proposal from Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh and said that Baruch University wished to learn more about the activities of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. In particular, he proposed a student exchange program between the two universities as a way to promote cooperation. Furthermore, he hoped that the two universities would conduct joint research on historical and public administration issues, such as public policy, civil society, demographics, Southeast Asian and Vietnamese history, the history of the Vietnam War, etc.
In response, Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh stated that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is ready to welcome American students to study and conduct research at the University through short-term courses in English, Vietnamese language courses, and visits to Vietnamese society, as well as sending faculty members from the University to conduct the aforementioned joint research. At the same time, Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh also signed a cooperation agreement with Professor Jeffrey Marc Peck to lay the groundwork for future cooperation between the two sides.
