During the meeting, Professor Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) stated that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is a leading university in training and research in the social sciences and humanities. In 1995, the University established the Department of Japanese Studies under the Faculty of Oriental Studies and began offering bachelor's degree programs in Japanese Studies. Among the University's partners, the Rector affirmed that Japan has always been an important partner in the strategy for developing international cooperation.
Mr. Jun Okudaira, on behalf of the Okazaki Kaheita International Scholarship Foundation, expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The Okazaki Kaheita Foundation is eager to receive scholarships from the University's students and trainees. To date, the Foundation has awarded 10 scholarships to Vietnamese students, including 4 from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

On behalf of the University, Professor Pham Quang Minh highly appreciated the Fund's support over the past period in helping the University in training high-quality human resources. The Rector pledged to select the most outstanding candidates to receive scholarships from the Fund, especially students majoring in Japanese Studies.

The Okazaki Kaheita International Scholarship Fund was established in March 1990 with the aim of contributing to world peace and development by promoting human resources from the People's Republic of China and other Asian countries. With the goal of fostering friendship between Japan and other Asian nations, as well as enhancing opportunities for human development in the region, the Fund awards scholarships to Asian students wishing to study in Japan. The Fund awards two scholarships to Chinese students and one scholarship to a student from Vietnam or Malaysia. The scholarships are for a period of three years.
