At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) said that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is a leading university in training and research in the field of social sciences and humanities. In 1995, the University established the Department of Japanese Studies under the Faculty of Oriental Studies and conducted undergraduate training in Japanese studies. Among the University's partners, the Rector affirmed that Japan is always an important partner in the international cooperation development strategy.
On behalf of the Okazaki Kaheita International Scholarship Fund, Mr. Jun Okudaira expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The Okazaki Kaheita Foundation is looking forward to receiving students and trainees of the University receiving scholarships from the Fund. Up to now, the Fund has awarded 10 scholarships to Vietnamese students, including 4 students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
On behalf of the School, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh highly appreciated the Fund's support in the past time to help the School in training high-quality human resources. The Principal committed to selecting the most outstanding candidates to receive scholarships from the Fund, especially students majoring in Japanese Studies.

The Okazaki Kaheita International Scholarship Foundation was established in March 1990 to contribute to world peace and development by promoting human resources from the People's Republic of China and other Asian countries. With the aim of promoting friendship between Japan and other Asian countries and enhancing opportunities for human development in countries in the region, the Foundation offers scholarships to Asian students who wish to study in Japan. The Foundation offers 2 scholarships to Chinese students and 1 scholarship to Vietnamese or Malaysian students. The scholarship is valid for 3 years.
