On February 16, 2017, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) and representatives of the Faculty of Oriental Studies and the Office of Cooperation and Development had a meeting and worked with the delegation of Chonbuk National University (Korea) led by Assoc. Prof. Kim Kwang Suk (Vice Rector in charge of International Cooperation).

At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) emphasized: promoting international cooperation and exchange is considered a key task and foundation for the development of the University. The University has cooperated with many famous universities in Korea such as Seoul National University, Pusan ​​University... and the Korea Foundation to develop Korean Studies and many other research and training cooperation programs. The University has made remarkable achievements in promoting research and training in Korean Studies. The Faculty of Oriental Studies currently has a Korean Studies major, which is one of the leading training addresses for Korean Studies and Korean language.

In response, Associate Professor Kim Kwang Suk, on behalf of Chonbuk National University, thanked the University of Social Sciences and Humanities for its warm welcome and expressed his desire to welcome students from the University to study and intern in Korea. Chonbuk National University will create conditions for Vietnamese students to work at Korean enterprises. According to Associate Professor Kim Kwang Suk, Vietnamese students have always demonstrated their intelligence and diligence compared to students from other countries.

Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh highly appreciated Assoc. Prof. Kim Kwang Suk's goodwill and added some cooperation proposals such as short-term and long-term student exchange programs, 2+2 and 1+3 models. The President also hoped that the two schools would soon sign a cooperation agreement to realize the above ideas. The Cooperation and Development Office will be the focal point between the two sides.

Chonbu National University was founded in 1947 with its main campus located in the capital city of Jeonju. Currently, Jeonju has 14 colleges with 32,000 students studying. Of these, 1,100 are international students from all over the world. Chonbuk is a multidisciplinary national university, with 15 faculties and 87 undergraduate majors, and 14 departments and 215 graduate majors.
