At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh introduced basic information about the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, focusing on the University's internationalization strategy, through enhancing English-taught programs and expanding cooperation with international partners. The University wishes to exchange and cooperate with Humber College through specific activities such as organizing joint seminars, exchanging students and lecturers, and conducting joint scientific research.
On behalf of the Canadian side, Prof. Alister R. Mathieson expressed his thanks for the warm welcome of Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh. He said that Humber College is ready to cooperate with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to improve the English proficiency of staff, lecturers and students, towards establishing an English Center at the University. Humber College will also cooperate with the University in developing joint postgraduate programs in anthropology and tourism studies. To create a foundation for these activities, Prof. Alister R. Mathieson suggested that the two sides sign an official memorandum of cooperation as soon as possible.
Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh agreed with the above proposals and committed to promptly implementing the signing of the bilateral cooperation agreement. The Office of Cooperation and Development will be the main contact point of the University. In addition, the President invited Prof. Alister R. Mathieson to attend the international conference on tourism held in September 2018 at the University.
