Welcoming the Iranian Ambassador to Vietnam

Mr. Saleh Abidi expressed his pleasure at welcoming him to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and acknowledged the efforts in promoting research and teaching on Persian culture and language of the University. Based on the achievements, Ambassador Saleh Abidi hoped that the University would include the Persian Language Department in the official curriculum as an elective or compulsory subject, translate more important documents on Persian culture and language, and sign a new cooperation agreement between the University and Iranian universities based on the old cooperation agreement signed in 2011. He also invited Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh to visit Iran to learn and share educational experiences between Vietnam and Iran.

Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh fully agreed with the proposals of Mr. Saleh Abidi. In response, the Rector thanked the Iranian Embassy for supporting human resource training, granting scholarships and contributing to promoting Persian culture and language to a large number of lecturers, staff and students of USSH. The Rector pledged to make effective use of trained human resources to further enhance the relationship between the University and Iranian universities. With the help of specialized training and research units on Iran such as the Department of Iran Studies and the Faculty of Oriental Studies, USSH will certainly be a reliable address to popularize Iranian history, culture and language to the Vietnamese people.

With 18 years of research on Iran, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has organized 04 photo exhibitions, 05 seminars, 05 books and 03 specialized magazines on Iran, 03 talks on the people and country of Iran, 04 Persian language courses, as well as 06 masters and 03 bachelors trained in Iran. In addition, there was a visit and signing of memorandum of understanding by former Rector Nguyen Van Khanh with 03 universities of Iran (University of Tehran, Esfrahan, Azad and SAMT Publishing House) along with many film screenings and art performances at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Hanoi.
