On April 25, 2016, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Hanoi) received and worked with a delegation from Nanhua University (Taiwan) led by Dr. Wann-Yih Wu (Faculty of Management and Business, Nanhua University). Also in attendance were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice Rector of the University) and representatives from the Faculty of Tourism Studies, the Training Department, and the Cooperation and Development Department.

Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh stated that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is a leading university in training and research in the social sciences and humanities. The university currently has 16 faculties, 12 research centers, and over 10,000 students and trainees across all levels and training programs. In 1995, the University established the Department of Chinese Studies under the Faculty of Oriental Studies and has been providing training from bachelor's to doctoral levels in Chinese Studies. Recently, the University, in collaboration with Wenzao University of Foreign Studies, established the Taiwan Education Center. Its functions include providing Chinese language training programs, organizing Taiwan education exhibitions, promoting and advising on studying in Taiwan, organizing the TOCFL (Total Chinese Proficiency Test), conducting thematic seminars, Vietnamese-Taiwanese language and culture activities, and acting as a liaison between universities and Taiwan, seeking Taiwanese government scholarships to create study abroad opportunities for Vietnamese students.

Dr. Wann-Yih Wu stated that Nanhua University highly values ​​the cooperative relationship between the two universities and agrees with proposals to further expand cooperation in the future. He proposed several collaborative activities such as student and faculty exchange programs, and especially the implementation of a 2+2 training program. The program is expected to have a duration of 138 credits, with an enrollment quota of 20 to 50 students, targeting international students, with priority given to Vietnamese students. The Faculty of Tourism Studies will be the focal point for implementing the training program between Nanhua University and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Nanhua University was founded in 1996 by donations from charitable activities that began in 1993. The university has five major colleges: Educational Management, Arts, Science, Humanities, and Technology. Notably, Nanhua University is one of the universities with a global network. Nanhua has partnerships with four other universities worldwide: one in the Philippines, one in Australia, and one in the United States. Students can easily transfer to universities in other countries within the same network if they wish.
