Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh stated that the Faculty of Oriental Studies at the University is one of the leading institutions for training in Chinese studies in Vietnam. The Faculty has a Chinese Studies Center to support research and training activities on China. The Center is one of the first centers for Chinese studies research in Vietnam, specializing in research, training, and application of issues related to China, particularly its history, philosophy, language, culture, society, economics, politics, and diplomacy; its experiences in state building, cultural preservation and development, management and socio-economic restructuring; and its experiences in modernization, sustainable development, and integration since the reform and opening up. Graduates of the Chinese Studies program at the University possess strong foreign language skills and find more suitable jobs. However, the cooperative relationship between the Faculty and the Chinese Embassy still has the potential to develop to a new level. Therefore, the Vice Rector expressed his desire for greater cooperation with the Chinese Embassy to further promote bilateral relations between the two sides.
