Professor Vu Duong Ninh: "Today, please accept me into the Youth Union as a senior member."

“March Meeting” is a program to celebrate the 84th anniversary of the founding of the Union and award the title of “Outstanding Union Member and Student” to 20 students in the school. The program is also a place for Union officials of all periods and students to review the glorious 20-year journey of the school’s Union.

Attending the program were Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Kim - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Principal of the school, comrade Truong Ngoc Kiem - Secretary of the Youth Union of VNU, comrade Tran Thanh Thuy - Deputy Chief of Office of the Hanoi Youth Union, Prof. Dr. Vu Duong Ninh - Chairman of the Association of Former Teachers, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Xuan Khang - Chairman of the School's Trade Union...

Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim praised the outstanding faces receiving the title and hoped that they would continue to make efforts and try to write more glorious pages of history of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Belonging to the first class of students majoring in History at the University of Literature, the predecessor of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities today, Professor and People's Teacher Vu Duong Ninh is one of those who have witnessed almost the entire process of formation and development of the University's Youth Union from the past to the present. At the meeting with Youth Union officials of different periods, he shared: “My background is very simple! At the age of 19, I entered Hanoi University of Science. I stayed here until I was 69 years old and then retired. That's exactly 50 years. And this year, I am 79 years old. Therefore, in this exciting atmosphere, I have a wish to express to the Youth Union leaders: to admit me into the Youth Union as an elderly Youth Union member today.”

Immediately afterwards, Secretary of the Youth Union Tran Bach Hieu stepped up and presented Professor Vu Duong Ninh with his Youth Union badge.

The “March Meeting” program helped staff and students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities understand more about the glorious history of the school from the past to the present. At the same time, it aroused the enthusiasm and sense of responsibility of the youth in building the Youth Union movement and contributing to the country’s development.

The results and significance of the program are a gift to celebrate the 27th anniversary of the school's Party Committee and towards the 20th anniversary of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the 70th anniversary of the University of Literature, University of General Science.
