During the meeting, Professor Pham Quang Minh introduced the University's Program for Internet and Society Studies (VPIS). Over the years, VPIS, along with several partners, has implemented a number of collaborative projects with UNESCO, such as organizing the Vietnam Internet Forum 2017 in November 2017 and the "Data Journalism" training course in November 2018. With a focus on internationalizing research and training activities, the University hopes to continue implementing collaborative projects with UNESCO in the future.

Professor Pham Quang Minh discusses with Mr. Michael Croft.
Mr. Michael Croft highly appreciated the collaborative activities that the University has implemented with UNESCO. He stated that UNESCO is very interested in the role of educational institutions in managing social change. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities can be a reliable address for conducting research on social change in Vietnam, with journalism and media being an important field. In the future, UNESCO will continue to support the University by connecting it with more private partners to carry out joint research and training projects. This cooperation could then be expanded to other fields such as anthropology and sociology.

The Internet and Society Research Program of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is an interdisciplinary research project aimed at clarifying the impacts of the Internet on various aspects of life and society, and the reciprocal impacts of society on shaping the future development of the Internet from a social sciences and humanities perspective. The program includes the following topics: Internet & Life, Internet & Communication, Internet & Law - Public Administration, and Internet & Education.
